MTS transfers to use to the regional center of information technologies of the Pskov IT equipment region

JSC Mobile TeleSystems announces transfer to use to the regional center of information technologies of the Pskov region of the IT equipment which will allow to start the new version of the regional educational www.pskovedu.ru portal by the beginning of academic year and to offer the innovation opportunities for pupils, their parents and employees of an education system of the Pskov region. The project is implemented with assistance of Public administration of formation of the Pskov region.

The equipment transferred to MTS to the regional center of information technologies of the Pskov region is 40 servers and 4 disk arrays volume 3tb. Equipment installation will allow to increase portal performance, to provide simultaneous access on the portal of bigger number of users, storage of bigger information volume. Besides, the possibility of rendering the public and municipal services in the field of education in electronic form will be implemented.

On the updated portal detailed information on all educational institutions of the Pskov region will be placed. The section devoted to preschool education will be added, an opportunity to use an electronic queue for filing of applications, registration and transfer of children in kindergartens will become available to parents. In the personal section residents of the area will be able to obtain information on transfer in educational institutions and results of the passed examinations and also data on the current progress of pupils and other data from electronic diaries and class books. By the end of 2011 on the portal lesson schedules, information on educational programs and curricula, training courses, objects and disciplines will be available. Also on the portal there will be a storage of electronic resources where the selection of distribution kits of the open source for use in educational institutions will be placed.

Since April, 2011 schools of area got access to a regional educational information network and the Internet due to regional financing at a speed up to 2 Mbps that means increase in speed of work at 4-16 times for each educational institution. Expansion of a circle of users, development of the modern services and the innovation solutions ICT providing new opportunities for school students including children with limited opportunities of health, the exceptional children, pupils living in the remote localities of area requires increase in equipment capacity. All solutions which will be used on the transferred equipment are based on the open source and are developed in the regional center of information technologies of the Pskov region using an open software platform Integriks.
