For the Wyse Technologies company which was for two decades the leader not of the simple market of thin clients owing to the outlined new technology trends the best — cloud times begin.^[1]

Basic reason of the current growth of Wyse — in weakening of barriers on the way of development of thin clients and their successors. There was almost inconceivable: the main competitor dominating for decades on behalf of the classical personal computer gradually yields the position, and it occurs not in the course of competitive struggle, and as a result of distribution of cloud computing and under pressure of diverse manifestations of mobile calculations. It is possible to call new computer access devices a compromise between thin and thick clients, some are thinner, others are more fat, but anyway they create space for an ecological niche for which Wyse applies. It is obvious that the traditional desktop will replace several different distributed architectural and hardware solutions, among them there is infrastructure of the virtual desktop systems (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, VDI) and a desktop as service (Desktop as a Service, DaaS).

Own initiative of Wyse received the name "cloud PC" (Cloud PC). Today it is provided by several models of diskless devices (C00LE, V00LE, R00L and R00LE) capable to receive the operating system and applications from a private cloud at once. Cloud PCs — the next step to evolutions of the thin client. Cloud PC differs from the better known solution of virtualization of desktops which, in essence, is presentation and in which applications are run on a centralized basis in the fact that in it applications are run in a workplace.

Performed by Wyse this scheme is supported by the Wyse Streaming Manager software package. In general Cloud PC reminds Citrix Provisioning Server. As well as the normal thin client, WSM gives the chance to the IT administrator on a centralized basis to manage all infrastructure of the virtual and physical desktop systems of the enterprise. WSM uses resources of DPC very economically, works in a standalone mode and will be approved with the operating opportunities of VDI. In the long term the WSM tools will support not only the cloud PCs, but also other devices released by Wyse.
