The Russian system integrator Oberon announced in May, 2011 completion of design and deployment of the IP telephony on the platform "Moskvorechye" of the All-Russian Research Institute of automatic equipment of N.L. Dukhov (VNIIA). In a project deliverable the capacity of a telephone network increased twice.
The platform "Moskvorechye" where works on deployment of the IP telephony were carried out, includes 20 different buildings. For consolidation of these objects the cable system is created (CSIC) using fiber optic solutions of Huber+Suhner company, in each body is constructed a copper cable system of category 5e EuroLan.
Before reconstruction telephone communication was based on analog copper lines. After creation by specialists of Oberon of a structured cabling system, the management of institute made the decision to use the available possibilities of SCS for the IP-telefonii organization. On project implementation a little more than 3 months left. Installation and setup of telecommunication equipment is during this time carried out. The main solutions is Avaya Communication Manager based on the Avaya S8500 media server, media gateways of Avaya G650, G450 and G430. The created solution allows to provide telephone communication for 400 subscribers.
"Deployment of the IP telephony – only a small part of the large-scale project of reconstruction of IT infrastructure of institute. It is obvious that application of modern information and telecommunication technologies will allow the customer to increase return from IT systems. At what it concerns also the private moments – quality and reliability of communication, new opportunities for joint work, cutting of costs for telephony services – and efficiency of IT in general", - Mironov Dmitry, the director of the department of design and construction of Oberon notes.
