Honeywell Primus Epic-based EASy II Honeywell

Product
Developers: Honeywell
Branches: Transport

The advanced software of Primus Epic-based EASy II Honeywell underwent in May, 2011 certification of the Federal Aviation Agency of the USA (FAA Technical Standard Order – TSO). Being the first integrated onboard concept by airplanes business of aircraft, the avionics of Primus Epic Honeywell is updated by even more modern systems of security and performance which guarantee high degree of situational awareness along with increase in efficiency of passing of a route.

Primus Epic-based EASy II Honeywell is completed with the system of synthetic vision SmartView improving situational awareness during flight and the system of required navigation characteristics - Required Navigation Performance - Approval Required – RNP-AR allowing to build more effective routes.

The avionics of EASy II Honeywell is the second application of a line SmartView developed to provide the innovation functionality to the most modern pilot's cabins in the world. For example, the software of synthetic vision of Dassault SmartView is completely integrated into the onboard EASy system based on architecture of Primus Epic from Honeywell.

SmartView is based on the Expanded alerting system of proximity of the earth - Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System – EGPWS – landscape base which has an unprecedented data set, thanks to 800 million hours of test flights by commercial airplanes, business jets and helicopters worldwide.

The satellite control system and corrections - Satellite Based Augmentation System with performance Localizer with vertical targeting - Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance is also included in the package of EASy II. A system provides vertical targeting on devices during landing approach, increasing the accuracy and availability of navigation. Besides, EASy II is compatible to the European geostationary navigation service (EGNOS) which is recently implemented by the system allowing carrying out bigger number of exact, safe and effective landing at the European airports. EGNOS is an analog of the American Global system of distribution of differential amendments (WAAS - Wide Area Augmentation System).

Primus Epic-based EASy II Honeywell is equipped with the SmartRunway Honeywell system for risk minimization of run on a runway, providing the timely notification of crew members if the airplane approaches GDP from too high distance, too quickly or is not configured properly. The function of automatic decrease (Automatic Descent Mode) which is built in EASy II automatically joins in case of depressurization of a cabin at big heights and also at loss of capacity to act of crew, the auto pilot immediately with maximum speed brings the airplane to safe height.

EASy II is also equipped with the following options:

  • The flight trajectory optimized by the system of improvement for reduction of fuel consumption;
  • The external transponder with the system of Broadcasting automatic dependent observation (ADS-B Out Transponder);
  • The meteorological graphic notification with the HM antenna;
  • Improved the systems of take-off and spinning over the airport;
  • Double chart Jeppessen.

Dessault conducts work on certification of a set of EASy II by airplanes of the Falcon 900 EASy series with the upgraded version which release is appointed to the second half of 2011. A system will be installed by the new Falcon 900LX airplanes and also will allow to improve already existing series of the Falcon 900 EASy airplanes.
