Midland (System)

In April, 2004 near Sheremetyevo Airport, opposite to the cargo terminal of Sheremetyevo Cargo warehouse-office complex of Midland company opened. For automation of a warehouse of safe custody the warehouse management system "System 1" was selected.

Characteristic of a warehouse

The total area of premises of the first stage of a warehouse is 5320 sq.m. The warehouse consists of two levels: The first level - 4 separate boxes of 360 sq.m. 3.5 m high and 2 separate boxes of 210 sq.m. with a uniform zone of unloading through three gate. The second level - the monovolume storage with a total area of 2400 sq.m. having 5 gate equipped with equalizers of floors. At the second level the pallet in five tiers on racks can be stored to the 4200th. The second level was separated into four functional zones: loading unloading zone, zone of pallet storage, zone of a complete set and zone of defects.

The nomenclature of a warehouse should make 10000 goods items. In two weeks after opening the warehouse was filled completely.

Warehouse logistics

In Midland, as well as in any warehouse, acceptance, storage and shipment of goods is made. The specifics of a warehouse consist in processing of the big nomenclature time of externally very similar technical products and that the diverse goods can be stored on one pallet.

Acceptance of goods

The warehouse receives goods as on pallets, and piece. On one pallet there can be homogeneous or heterogeneous goods. After incoming inspection in a zone of loading unloading palletizing of piece goods is made. At the same time pallets can be mikshirovanny (on one pallet the diverse goods of one owner can be placed). Pallets are placed on storage locations.

Shipment of goods

According to the notification on shipment which arrived from the owner of goods piece selection of goods with its moving to a complete set zone is made. In a zone of a complete set sets form or palletizing of the shipped goods is executed. The created pallets move

Intra warehouse transactions

For optimization of work of a warehouse compression of goods is periodically executed. Inventory, write-off, marking of goods is in case of need carried out.

Step-by-step automation

For reduction of one-time costs the warehouse management system is implemented step by step.

At the first stage the basic set of a management system and the minimum set of the equipment was set: the barcode printer for printing of labels for marking a pallet and storage locations, the barcode scanner for identification of documents, goods and a pallet.

At the second stage after the approval of the scheme of pricing of services of a warehouse the system of billing is customized.

At the third stage terminals with a radio access are connected to a system.

At the fourth stage after delivery of the second queue of a warehouse support of work of several warehouses and providing an opportunity to clients of a warehouse via the Internet to obtain information on the goods and loads, to manage orders on acceptance and shipment of goods is planned.

Such step-by-step system implementation and reduction of initial investments into the project became possible thanks to capability of a warehouse management system to be customized and recustomized under any warehouse logistics. So business processes during the work of a warehouse on paper technology differ from work of a warehouse using terminals with a radio access when all dresses on execution of works are loaded into terminals. In full the warehouse complex should be started by the fall of this year. Reconfiguration of a management system upon transition from a stage to a stage is executed without stopping a warehouse.

Tasks

For start of a warehouse the "paper" technology when dresses for works of contractors are printed is used.

The second level was separated into four functional zones: loading unloading zone, zone of pallet storage, zone of a complete set and zone of defects.

Thanks to systems capabilities of management of the warehouse "System 1" there was no need in addition to select zones both for piece storage, and for goods turnover rate accounting: the warehouse management system "System 1" allows to use for piece storage of a zone and separate pallets and to range them at the cost of transactions of placement and shipment.
