"Holliday Klassik" completed replication of WMS

The Holliday Klassik network includes 60 shops and is a market leader in Siberian Federal District. The area of a warehouse is 8,000 sq.m, and the volume of storage of products – about 12000 paletto-places. For so large-scale retail network with the large distribution center implementation of a specialized system for management of a warehouse became an obvious necessity at a certain stage of development. CORUS Consulting as the partner in system implementation of WMS was recommended by Accenture company which keeps the project on implementation of the ERP system of Oracle Reatek at the moment.

The project team consisted of specialists of CORUS Consulting and Manhattan Associates company. Integration of world practices with knowledge of specialists in the field of logistics of Holliday Klassik company allowed to create model of processes of the distribution center. During the project the main objective was successfully solved: processes of acceptance and placement of goods, inventory adjustments, inventories, replenishment actions, complete sets, reservation and selection of goods, shipment and data exchange with the accounting system are automated. Besides, in a system possibilities of providing the operational reporting were configured. WMS Manhattan ILS allowed to consider specifics of the enterprise completely.

Start of a system in operation took place smoothly. In many respects it turned out to be consequence of the fact that the project team from Holliday Klassik and Corus Consulting completely followed jointly the developed detailed testing plan and start of transactions. High quality of training of end users before start was provided with well provided training. Besides, thanks to the modern, convenient and clear system interface users very quickly mastered execution of operations.

IT specialists of Holliday Group made in March, 2011 a transfer of a system of providing the distribution center in Novosibirsk with Manhattan ILS 2006.2 on Manhattan SCALE 2010.

Updating and reasons

Earlier the warehouse control system and logistic processes (WMS) of Manhattan ILS was implemented in the new distribution center of Holliday company.

"The aspiration to increase stability of work of the distribution center and to use a system, more functional and flexible in respect of settings, was a basic reason of updating of the version of the WMS system. A role was played also by development of a service life on the main distribution center of the company, - the leading programmer of Holliday company Alexander Kochetkov tells. – We decided to update along with updating of the version of a system and servers. In parallel with the working version 2006.2 on new servers version 2010 was unrolled, and the processed and optimized current configuration and warehouse data was transferred to it much".

Results and plans

Project works are completed within twelve days, at the same time work of the distribution center had to be stopped for day – on a set-up time of warehouse data to transfer, their loadings in a system and also for final check of operability of a system and consultation of users. In the closest plans of the company – transfer to Manhattan SCALE 2010 of the distribution center of the company in Omsk.

2013. The plan - to replicate independently

The Holliday group will start replication of WMS Manhattan SCALE in the new distribution center located in the Novosibirsk region the company integrator reported on May 24, 2013.

Start

At the beginning of 2013 the retailer announced expansion of business and rented on long term, in addition, 30 thousand ^sq.m of warehouse spaces under the new distribution center in the Novosibirsk region.

Organizing work of the new distribution center of Holliday Group is going to carry out replication of the warehouse management system Manhattan SCALE independently, forces of specialists of group of companies which were once taking part in an implementation project of WMS on the first distribution center of the company in 2006. Then, during the project of automation of RTs, training of staff of Holliday Group in the WMS Manhattan SCALE components was provided. Thanks to the gained knowledge, in several months after the termination of the first project, they independently started two more warehouses.

"In 2006 when the management of Holliday Group selected the platform for automation of the first distribution center, Manhattan WMS only appeared in the Russian market. Nevertheless, the management of Holliday Group made a choice for benefit of Manhattan WMS and was not mistaken. Thanks to flexibility of a system, IT department of the retailer by own forces, without involvement of third-party contractors, could implement the subsequent system deployment in new distribution centers, having provided thus fast return and economy of funds for development of IT infrastructure", - the deputy CEO of CORUS Consulting Group Alexander Rakhmanov noted.

Project Results

On September 26, 2014 the Holliday group announced completion of replication of the WMS system on the Manhattan SCALE 2013 platform in the distribution center in Omsk.

"The decision on implementation Manhattan SCALE 2013 was made proceeding from the need of use of new functionality of the version and aspiration to provide stability of work of the new distribution center with the range of weight and perishable goods. Not the last role in the choice was played also by desire to check work SCALE 2013 in prodakshen to the environment on small RTs before installation for the new RTs opened by the company in the fall, - told Alexander Gorbachev, the project manager ERP "Holliday Klassik". – On new servers the version was unrolled 2013 and the configuration, standard for our RTs, is configured.
