DPD (Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition)

In DPD the project on development and deployment of the data warehouse based on the products Oracle Business Intelligence & DataWarehousing is complete. The project is implemented by Swagger — Development Center company (file). The project was implemented in a year. Now a BI system is brought into operation. Under the international DPD brand in Russia Armadillo Business Sending and Armadillo companies which render a full range <wbr>of transport logistics services </wbr>on unique technology of express forwarding work.

The project was initiated for the purpose of formation of a uniform information resource for creation of the management analytical reporting on the basis of uniform model of corporate data. At the same time high quality of the processed data – their completeness, reliability and consistency and also high speed of preparation of the analytical reporting at all levels should be provided.

As the database server it was used by Oracle Database 10g with the option Partitioning, Warehouse Builder which is built in Oracle Database 10g served as the instrument of loading. Selection in a solution architecture of the DB separate areas under loading and storage of historical data and also analytical show-windows allowed to use the structures of storage optimized for accomplishment of analytical requests of any type on large volumes of data. Their total amount in storage at the moment is 100 GB. At the same time the analytical area comprises 40 dimension tables, 21 fact tables and also tables of magazines of loading and other office structures of storage.

The implemented rule set of the formatno-logical control (FLC) allows to provide diagnostics of the arriving information and the high level of quality of data in storage. For each user group - company management, department of sales and department of quality – several multipage dashboards are developed. The total quantity of pages of analytical panels made more than 50.
