The market of the NAS systems will reach $2 billion

Cloud computing cannot replace all traditional models of data storage so in four years the market of NAS systems will reach $2 billion, generally due to demand from medium and small business.

The growing popularity of services of cloud data storage does not mean to measure for NAS networks (network-attached storage) which are actively used by medium and small business. As expected, this market will grow to $2 billion by 2015.

According to a research of In-Stat company, around seven from ten companies SMB use along with cloud storage and the NAS systems. In 2010 deliveries of units in a segment of SMB grew by 46.5%.

As for the companies of the enterprise level, only 10% from them consider a public cloud as data storage option, according to the research TheInfoPro.

Poll of 247 companies from the list of Fortune 1000 showed that 87% of respondents do not intend to use public cloud services, 10% - already use them and 3% - yet did not decide on the intentions.

Though installations of NAS systems in the sector of the medium-sized and small companies occupy a small market share of NAS in general, this segment of the market will grow with the largest speed in the next four years. North America and Europe will occupy at the same time 84.6% of the market of NAS systems for the SMB companies.

"In process of market development the concept NAS accepts additional shades", - Bogen (Bogen), the vice president of In-Stat Research says Regulations. For example, even more often involves management systems for software as it simplifies work of users on installation and further use of products in the NAS projects.

According to a research, 57.3% of respondents of a segment of medium and small business use NAS technologies. Those respondents who do not use the NAS system as a rule have less than 50 employees.
