Channel One increases server capacities

Due to the need to provide uninterrupted broadcasts of the World Cup of the world per hockey to IT department of Channel One it was required to improve computing infrastructure. In response to the received request, specialists of NStor proposed the complete solution based on the Supermicro server platforms. Systems on the basis of the SYS-6016T-UF platforms with powerful processors of the Intel Xeon 5600 series - X5660 and X5670 became a core of the computer system. Thanks to laborious study of the project, department of server solutions of NStor it was succeeded to design the balanced and powerful solution from ten servers which provided safe increase in load of capacities of the leading TV channel of Russia. However permanent improvement of quality of video content and growth of a role of a digital video provide demand strengthened IT infratruktury already now, at once upon completion of broadcastings.

As a basis for the solution of a task of the customer the Supermicro servers were not accidentally selected. These systems differ in the most flexibility when configuring and allows to create the solutions which are most optimized under tasks of the client, using components of third-party producers. And enhanced capabilities of monitoring, high fault tolerance and an energoeffktivnost profitable select the Supermicro platforms against the background of competitors.
