Megalogistics (Infor SCM WM (EXceed WMS))

The warehouse management system SSA Warehouse Management(EXсeed WMS) will be implemented in two warehouses of Megalogistika company under construction in the North and the South of St. Petersburg.

Exceed WMS is developed by Infor company and is the warehouse management system capable to solve problems of complex distribution centers with a difficult organization structure, the wide nomenclature and large volume of transactions of multiwarehouse complexes and distribution centers.

Now a system is already implemented in the warehouse Okhta terminal complex of Megalogistika company. Implementation was performed together with I2 CIS company — the partner of Infor company in Russia and the CIS countries.

Okhta terminal

The I2 CIS company and Megalogistik LLC, the operator on rendering services of safe custody, announced the successful beginning of operation of the automated control system for the warehouse Exceed WMS 4000 (SSA Warehouse Management) on the modern warehouse complex "Okhta Terminal" in St. Petersburg.

Megalogistik LLC is a new warehouse operator in St. Petersburg which provides a full range of services in warehouse processing and safe custody. In 2004 the construction of the warehouse complex "Okhta Terminal" for which automation the Exceed WMS 4000 system was selected was completed. The Exceed WMS 4000 system provides accomplishment of all 3PL of functions of the company: tariffing of warehouse transactions on the clients owning goods in a warehouse; installation of independent rules of work with goods of each client; automatic drawing of accounts for warehousing services. Almost right after the beginning of operation of the Exceed WMS 4000 system, the following indicators improved: quantity of the processed goods at acceptance (persons/hour) for 30%, the number of placements for 30%, coefficient of effective use of the warehouse space for 100%, complete set speed for 25%, the cost of processing of one box fell by 10%.

The Exceed WMS system registers orders in a warehouse, coordinates selection and accomplishment of orders and also performs a broad spectrum of inventory transactions, including accounting of trade inventories, tracking of a product according to way bills, creation of bills of lading, printing of labels about a stroke the code, physical counting of a remaining balance and stock check. A system also provides an ability to manage with formation of groups of orders which should be shipped to one machine and are sent along the corresponding route and also loading of orders for vehicles in the proper sequence for simplification of the subsequent unloading at clients. Exceed WMS also contains the control facilities of volume and weight of the shipped orders allowing to maximize loading of the vehicle, guaranteeing at the same time that the weight of containers will not exceed standards of loading of vehicles.
