2024: Global Mobile Radio Market Size Exceeded $17 Billion for the Year

At the end of 2024, the global market for Land Mobile Radio reached $17.02 billion. More than a third of global costs came from the Asia-Pacific region. Such data are provided in a Fortune Business Insights study, the results of which were published on October 28, 2025.

Mobile radio communication - a wireless communication system for ground subscribers using portable devices (portable radio stations - walkie-talkies) and (or) equipment that is mounted on vehicles (mobile radio stations). It provides operational communication, for example, for emergency response services, law enforcement agencies, construction companies, transport, etc. Repeaters may be used to extend the coverage area. The key advantages of this type of communication include reliability in the absence of infrastructure, support for group and individual communication, the ability to integrate with other systems, etc.

One of the drivers of the analytics market is the growing demand for reliable and efficient communication systems from a number of large industries, such as public safety, transport and utilities. In addition, devices with advanced functionality are becoming increasingly popular, including GPS support, text messaging, etc.

Technological advances have a positive impact on the industry. Thus, the integration of algorithms based on artificial intelligence allows for real-time noise cancellation, as well as improved communication clarity. Analysis of traffic patterns and equipment information helps in predictive maintenance and in optimizing network operation.

There is an integration of mobile radio systems with cloud technologies. These solutions provide additional capabilities, including centralized management, remote monitoring, message encryption, and improved call routing, which improves efficiency and security. Cloud implementation enables organizations to reduce infrastructure costs within the company, as well as capital and maintenance costs.

Depending on device type, the market is segmented into portable, automotive, and stationary solutions. In 2024, the first of the listed sectors was in the lead, which also retains dominance in 2025 with a share of 45%. In terms of application, the directions of state and public security, power and utilities, the armed forces and defense, transport and logistics, mining and construction, etc., are distinguished. The most significant revenue in 2024 was provided by the segment of state and public security services - 29%. From a geographical point of view, the Asia-Pacific region leads, which accounted for 40.8%, or $6.94 billion. Globally, major industry players are:

Fortune Business Insights analysts predict that in the future, the CAGR in the market under consideration will be 10.7%. Thus, by 2032, costs may increase to $38.05 billion.[1]
