TOP of the reason of dismissals in 2016
At the end of 2016 specialists of analytical center Falcongaze prepared the list of the most common causes of dismissals (as voluntarily, and at a will of employers) the employees in the Russian companies. Data for a research were obtained from clients in the most different spheres of economy, from the oil and banking sector to the logistics and tourism using in the work the software package SecureTower intended for fight against date leaks, optimization of workflows and monitoring of working time.
Voluntary search of new work became the main reason of dismissals of employees in the left year. There is no wonder, considering quite intense situation in economy — the routine of the personnel grows, the companies cease to meet requirements of employees, and for ambitious workers new prospects are offered. In the domestic companies own initiative of the worker became a reason for leaving in 29% of cases. At the same time some workers do not go to the new company, and go to "free floating" — are engaged in education, look for the calling abroad or go to freelance or downshifting.
However not always partings are "amicable" to workers. One of basic reasons of dismissal in the Russian companies — different violations of workflow. Directly violations can be the most different: some employees were engaged in own affairs to the detriment of a labor activity, someone did not meet with collective because of incorrect behavior, at someone a problem with observance of the working schedule. In the different companies different corporate culture — in one make light of absences, and other organizations punish for the slightest delay. Nevertheless, in each company there is a line for which upon transition dismissal follows. In 2016 this line was passed by 27% of all dismissed employees.
Reductions continue to occupy a considerable part from all quantity of dismissed. The crisis phenomena still shake the domestic companies that, naturally, affects also personnel. In 2016 23% from all dismissed workers got under reductions. This number is less, than last year, but still it is more, than it would be desirable.
On the penultimate place there was also a reason connected with workflow violations, however much more serious, are dismissals in connection with cases of corruption, wastes and direct plunder. Due to the similar acts about 11% of all employees dismissed in a year said goodbye to work.
Regular practice in most the organizations is the conclusion at employment of the nondisclosure agreement of the office, commercial or protected by the law other secret. Violation of such agreement can lead to different effects, from warning, collecting or dismissal up to criminal prosecution, depending on degree of guilt of the employee and the solution of the management. Due to the disclosure of confidential information in 2016 dismissed there were 10% of total number.
The circumstances which became the reasons of dismissals differ, however in a large number of cases of dismissals because of bad faith of employees it is visible that to the ideal relations in the labor sphere to the domestic companies it is far. From here the main message is obvious — both to workers, and employers, for reduction of quantity of problems it is necessary to act together, but not to direct the efforts against each other. It is necessary to hope that next year all quite so and will be.
TOP of the reason of dismissals in 2012
As well as in 2011, in the left 2012 inappropriate use of working time and the Internet remained the most popular reason for dismissals. This occasion not only reserved the leading positions, but also strengthened them. According to the estimates of analysts of FalconGaze (Falcongaze) in 2012 34% of dismissals were connected with banal unwillingness of employees to fulfill the direct job responsibilities. Social networks, excessive interest in reading the news feeds, society columns and other materials colored in all shades of yellow color and also Internet purchase, an online game, communication in messengers with friends and relatives, viewing masterpieces of cinema and movies of very frivolous contents – all this became for many workers integral and even the prevailing component of labor everyday life. It is obvious that such principle of creation of the working day is absolutely unacceptable for employers. One case when the employee, for a while distracts to put the thoughts in order, and absolutely another when pay to the worker in literal sense salary for its entertainments.
Because of inappropriate use of working time most often dismissed the staff of travel agencies, banks and also the organizations which are engaged in information technologies. During the research it was established that if in tourism industry employees spend a considerable amount of time for visit of social networks, then in banks the percent of visit of resource data is much lower. In many respects it is caused by existence in networks of many banking institutions of the means limiting access to social networks and entertaining resources to working time. At the same time employees of banks, obviously, compensating prohibition on visit of social networks, is more often than others browse news feeds and different entertaining tabloids.
Among employees of the IT market other trend was mentioned: many workers try to take double benefit from the activity, being engaged at the main work as additional side jobs. In desire to earn it is more and to diversify labor activity there is nothing seditious, but very few specialists manage to manage to make for the working day twice more than put. As they say, on two chairs you will not remain sitting. It is possible to remain sitting more precisely if you are Julius Caesar capable to do several things at the same time without the slightest damage to each of them.
On the second place, as well as in 2011, such reason as discussion of the management and the policy of the company (19%) was located. As the wise saying says, do not bite the hand feeding you. And if in a company performance something does not arrange at all, then it is better to use constructive criticism and to find out all disputed issues. If this method for any reason does not work, then the solomonovy solution will be to address on labor market and to find the company with which staff there will be a complete mutual understanding.
As it became clear during the research, most of all criticism in the address and also to the organization do not suffer in the companies which are engaged in retail and large manufacturing enterprises.
Search of new work became the "bronze" prize-winner in the list of the reasons for dismissals in 2012. In desire to replace the place of work there is nothing seditious. Everyone wants to open for itself the new horizons and it is even banal to replace a view from the window. But search of the new place for use of the knowledge and skills should not prevent fulfillment of duties in a present workplace. Drawing up and mailing of the summary, passing of an interview and also a dream of the place where tea is more sweet and ruble are longer, borrow a lot of time and the general motivation of the employee who decided to leave walls of the company promptly falls that cannot but affect productivity of his work. Besides the employees leaving the organization often take with themselves "acquired by back-breaking toil", for example, customer bases of contacts, information on new developments - generally, everything that as it seems to the employee, it can be necessary for him in a new workplace. With such situation the fact that in 13% of cases chiefs prefer to refuse services of the subordinates before those put on a table the withdrawal letter at own will is unsurprising. Most jealously to thirst of employees to provide itself with new work location belong in the organizations which are engaged in trade. Also high percent of dismissals on this reason appeared in telecom industry which is characterized by high dynamics of development and, as a result, constantly lacks qualified specialists who are often enticed from one company in another, offering higher compensation and various bonuses.
In comparison with last year employees who were dismissed for bribes became a little less. Thus, not absolutely legal human self-interest, became the reason of 11% of dismissals. Not only bribery in a classical type, but also and use of the official position for personal reasons gets to the same category. Stories when this or that employee over and over again tries "drag" in the company of the friends or relatives who, maybe, people and quite good, but specialists extremely mediocre, became for a long time, let sad, but the ordinary.
One more reason – negligent treatment of confidential data. Cases when employees in working whirl send the letter with the new agreement not to that postal address are frequent or accidentally mention information "not for all" in a private conversation. Can mix the address everyone, but if similar "flaws" become the systematic phenomenon, then the probability of disclosure of confidential data can become a sad reality. At the same time, accidentally perfect offense does not preserve the company against very real losses at all. So, in 2012 10% of employees lost the jobs because of the carelessness. Most of all "fallen into a reverie" workers it was punished in banking sector and also in the trading and logistic companies where especially strict requirements are imposed to data protection.
Systematic delay, work absences without explanation, incorrect behavior – all this it is possible to integrate with clients and colleagues under the term "violation of internal regulations of the company". This reason was applied to dismissal of employees in 8% of cases. Most scrupulously this year treated questions of the labor schedule in the field of service, in the banking sector and also in the companies rendering insurance services. Apparently, dismissals for delay are not the most popular reason, however such "oversights" often become the last argument in a question of dismissal of the employee who allowed more serious miss.
The list of the most good reasons for dismissal in 2012 is completed by situations when the staff of the company quite consciously disclosed confidential information, having at the same time quite mercantile interests. Were convicted of desire to share developments of the company with competitors and then 5% of employees are dismissed. Most often on sale of data employees industrial, trade and the IT companies came across to competitors.
From the provided data it is visible that, as well as last year, the dismissed employees lost the places for absolutely logical reasons. Another thing is that the head not always manages to define from the first degree of gravity of offense of the subordinate. Therefore it would be quite good that for adoption of the similar solution the head would have the tool capable to help to assess objectively a situation. TOP of the reason of dismissals in 2011
Specialists of analysis department of FalconGaze company (Falcongaze) on the basis of the data obtained using the SecureTower system intended for information leak control and also the detailed analysis of working time of personnel conducted a large-scale research of the reasons in which they most often dismissed employees in 2011.
As it appeared, as one of the most good reasons for dismissal inappropriate use of working time and the Internet (33%) served. That employees in the workplace only do not create: visit of the entertaining websites, reading news, permanent communication in messengers, watching movies is only small sins. Many manage in working time to watch obscene movies at the end of which the main characters do not marry at all, or to play online games which eat gigabytes of corporate traffic.
And here other situation: as it appeared, 21% of staff of the enterprises do not refuse to itself pleasure to release a couple of caustic notes to the company or the head. From here and following reason for leaving: discussion of the company or its leadership team on the Internet. Generally, employees should think before stating causticity concerning communications of the director of the company with the new young accountant.
On the third place the problem with which in Russia deal since the time of Ivan III, namely corruption processes, rollbacks and bribes was placed. For this reason about 14% of the dismissed workers lost the work.
The following reason – search of new work (12%). Here it is so severe and ruthless. In modern realities work can be lost in the course of search of new. It is obvious that a talk on new work, mailing of the summary, frequentation of the websites about employment are capable to take away a considerable share of working time, besides, the employees who intended to leave "native home", very much like to take with themselves "souvenirs for memory", such as important documents, or databases of contacts.
Here one more good reason for dismissal: irresponsibility in treatment of confidential data (11%). The employee could be mistaken the postal address, or lost the USB stick with important developments, as a rule, such situation develops without malicious intent, but losses of the company from it do not become less.
And here, in fact, and reverse side of the same medal: industrial espionage for benefit of competitors (6%). In any company there will be information which disclosure will lead to direct losses. And, unfortunately, not pious employees ready to fill the pocket the at the expense of such data sometimes come across. Violation of internal regulations of the company (3%) was the last reason in the rating made by specialists of Falcongaze. Violation of the charter, the internal regulations concerning a company performance often leads to deterioration in the atmosphere in collective and to decrease in efficiency.
All above-mentioned reasons, undoubtedly, are a powerful argument for benefit of dismissal of the guilty employee. But a comma in a phrase "execute it is impossible to pardon" the head should put.
