BlackBerry OS 10 SDK

In the fall of 2012 the Research In Motion (RIM) company released the final version of the application development environment for the BlackBerry 10 platform. The final version includes a full range of the tools, components and API necessary for creating applications under BlackBerry 10 having a high integration scale and support of social services. Now the community of developers has all necessary for full preparation for start of the new platform.

The developers preferring C/C ++ or Qt, will be able to use BlackBerry Cascades for creation of mobile applications with the graphical interface. In comparison with any other mobile platforms, these tools provide deeper integration with basic services of the operating system, such as BlackBerry Hub. And for the developers creating applications based on HTML5, the RIM company prepared BlackBerry WebWorks - the tools allowing to create the web applications for devices based on BlackBerry 10 which are not inferior on the level of integration and high-speed performance to developments on low-level languages of programming. Besides, the development environment under BlackBerry 10 contains the additional tools allowing to create applications using Adobe of AIR and also to port the applications which are initially developed for the Android platform.

Before official start of the BlackBerry 10 platform there were less than two months, and interest in it from community of developers grows every day, report in RIM. Many leading players of the market already started creation of multimedia, social and business applications and also games and digital content for BlackBerry 10. Within the recent BlackBerry Jam Asia conference which took place in Bangkok, the RIM company told the names more than 70 partners who are engaged in creating applications and also showed work of already ready-made products for BlackBerry 10 among which there were applications from Fox Sports, MTV India, Picstory, Viki Video and Hot Remit.

As note in RIM, for the last several months significant growth of interest in products of the company from developers of mobile applications is observed. So, according to a recent research of Pivot Point Research conducted by request of RIM company, 58% of the polled developers are ready to recommend to the colleagues BlackBerry 10 as the platform for creating applications. From May till October, 2012 the share of such developers grew by 123%. Also this research showed steady growth of satisfaction of developers with the BlackBerry 10 platform - for 56% for the same period.

Thanks to social functions based on BBM6, the technology of augmented reality helps users to communicate more conveniently with friends and to share impressions. The Wikitude service allows to see on the card where there are your friends on BBM, and turning the camera around itself, it is possible to learn which of friends is most closer.

The NFC technology allows to create applications for reading of posters and tags and also provides communication with accessories

According to RIM company, the NFC technology has wide perspectives. Building in support of NFC some new models of smartphones based on BlackBerry 7, we show our support to this technology and we contribute to its development

Based on NFC technology it is possible to create solutions for access to buildings and accomplishment of mobile payments

The HID company announced that the new BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve smartphones will become the first smartphones with support of NFC which can be used as the admission in office or a key for access to a computer network

BlackBerry OS 6

On August 3, 2010 the Research In Motion company at last conference in New York submitted the new version of the operating system for the smartphones - BlackBerry OS 6. During its creation developers concentrated on the next moments. First, to make the interface "paltseoriyentirovanny", having saved an ability to manage using the trackball. Secondly, to improve multimedia opportunities. Thirdly to improve opportunities for web surfing. And, fourthly, to simplify access to messages and social networks.

The platform is equipped with the upgraded graphical interface with the new home screen. The last offers five browse modes and also a possibility of carrying out of labels to websites, applications and contacts. Besides, new general function allows to execute search in memory of the device, the Internet and app store of App World.

A new system is equipped with the web browser on the engine WebKit supporting modern standards and allowing to start the web applications written on HTML5. The Social Feeds application allows to get universal access to RSS- to mailings, BlackBerry Messenger Facebook Twitter MySpace AOL Instant Messenger Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger. Multimedia opportunities are expanded the Wi-fi Music Sync function. It allows to perform navigation on bibliotka of iTunes and Windows Media Player on a wireless network and to reproduce the selected files.

Applications for the new platform will be created based on BlackBerry Java SDK 6.0 which is already available. BlackBerry Torch 9800 became the first smartphone based on BlackBerry OS 6. Also RIM is going to release updates to the sixth version for the BlackBerry Bold 9700, BlackBerry Bold 9650 and BlackBerry Pearl 3G smartphones. It is possible that this list will include also other models.
