The place where is the enterprise, belonged to the Defense Ministry since 1812. The general of the Russian army Miloradovich M.A. organized rear supply base on these lands. Here the artillery town, parks, summer the camp of infantry regiments were placed.

In this territory since August 8 until the end of September, 1915 in the 189th spare battalion future marshal of the Soviet Union G.K. Zhukov had primary military training.

On May 10, 1940 in Vyborg on the basis of the order of the Top military commander of Leningrad Military District No. 201 the body 42702 as military warehouse No. 906 is created.

From the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and promotion of fascist troops to Leningrad a part was repeatedly relocated.

On September 30, 1943 the warehouse was transferred to Kaluga. The base supplied fronts of the Red Army with ammunition. Only from September, 1943 to May, 1945 5340 cars of artillery and mortar shots were assembled and sent to troops of the same shots of 6200 cars.

In August, 1960 the base is reorganized into the 60th arsenal of GRAU MO, since June, 1994 in GP "60 arsenal of GRAU MO" (a code name – a body 42702), and since June, 2002 – Federal State Unitary Enterprise 60 arsenal the Russian Defense Ministry.

Since December 23, 2003 according to the directive of the Top military commander of Moscow Military District No. 511/001620 Federal State Unitary Enterprise "60th arsenal" of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, being the legal successor of a body 42702 is registered.

On December 21, 2009 by the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2009-r of Federal State Unitary Enterprise 60 arsenal of the Russian Defense Ministry it is entered to the list of the strategic organizations.

According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of September 15, 2008 No. 1359 "About Oboronservis open joint stock company, the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 22, 2008 No. 875 and Order No. 1493 of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation of 12/31/2009 by conversion of Federal State Unitary Enterprise 60 arsenal of the Russian Defense Ministry creates open joint stock company "60th arsenal", being the legal successor of Federal State Unitary Enterprise 60 arsenal.

On February 12, 2010 open joint stock company "60th arsenal" is registered in state bodies of Russia.

JSC 60 arsenal specializes in capital repair and maintenance of the surface-to-air missile systems Buk, "SQUARE", fighting vehicle 9AZZBM2 (BMZ), radar station of detection P-19 Danube, an overhaul of GTE 9I56, 9I57, DG4M, 2PV8 of different series, electric power supply systems of surface-to-air missile systems.

The production system of quality successfully passed a stage of implementation and was certified in the systems of certification Military Register and GOST P.
