The historical information about the settlement of Pangody

At the end of September, 1971 workers of the Polar expedition of deep drilling on Bear began development drilling of gas well No. 52. So there was a locality Pangody that in translation from Nenets means – "the foot of the hill, hills". Arrangement of gas fields, construction of powerful gas pipelines Nadym – Punga and Nadym – the Center, gas-collecting stations on the field Bear and a gas supply to the industrial Urals caused fast settling and development of again arisen locality. The settlement is located in a forest-tundra zone with numerous lakes, on the left river bank the Right Kheta, in the central part of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, in the northeast of the Nadym district.

The decision of executive committee of the Tyumen regional council of deputies of workers of 7/20/1976 registered the settlement of Pangody and the Pangodinsky Village Council is formed. The settlement of Pangody is referred by the decision of executive committee of the Tyumen regional council of deputies of workers of 11/12/1979 to category of industrial settlements, the Pangodinsky Village Council is abolished and transformed to settlement Council of People's Deputies. The law of the autonomous area No. 43 of December 9, 1996 "About the administrative territorial device of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area" in the autonomous area forms the urban-type settlement of Pangody.
