2017: Development of the noninvasive glucose meter

"I long thought how to adapt our technologies and experience for the solution of fundamental tasks on a joint of IT and medicine", – the founder of the company Edward Kryzhanovsky remembered.

Development of the noninvasive glucose meter within which optical spectroscopy as well as possible "played" became such task as a result. The device developed by Kryzhanovsky's company is the optical sensor which allows to obtain diagnostic information on biochemical composition of blood on the reflected (scattered) light (in the device LEDs and photodetectors are placed). It is rather compact, it can be in the long term integrated into a ring or a bracelet, but the main thing, does not require punctures of skin and shows the high level of accuracy of measurements. In the summer of 2017 the command completed aprobatsionny researches in St. Petersburg in which participated 432 person, the error of results did not exceed 15%. There were tests and abroad, in Puerto Rico.

"We assumed that the error can enter skin color of patients to measurements, – Kryzhanovsky tells. – Selection was about 200 people with different skin color. As a result we established that the device works with admissible error".

The device, certainly, will be demanded, Kryzhanovsky, for the beginning of 2016, according to WHO data believes, in the world there were 415 million diabetics – and in 12 years their number will grow twice. It is a lot of patients having this disease and in Russia: about 4 million people. Besides, the innovation device – about 16 thousand (we will tell, the FreestyleLibre device from Abbott Laboratories will cost 19 thousand rubles, but to it it is necessary to buy in addition periodically sensors) will cost not much.

In total the command spent about 3 million rubles for development of the first prototype of the device. The device can work as it is autonomous, and to contact smartphones, computers or tablets through USB or Bluetooth.

"We will surely register the devices as medical products", – Edward Kryzhanovsky says.

The glucose meter comes to registration researches in February, 2018, then, presumably in April-May, researches according to the results of which the device will receive the European medical certification start. The last is basic for promotion of the device in global market – the company does not exclude that will sell not devices, but the license for production. In particular, concerns at which portfolio there are already traditional glucose meters are interested in the noninvasive glucose meter. As soon as the company receives the European medical certification, they will be more motivated to discuss purchase of technology or the license.

"We already have global buyers, – Edward Kryzhanovsky specifies. – At exhibitions all are ready to purchase these devices for the considerable amounts".

2007: Foundation of Bioentek company and release of a krounoskop

In 2007 Edward Kryzhanovsky with the partner Armen Grigoryan opened Bioentek company which is known in the market as the producer of the device under the name krounoskop. Grigoryan acts as the partner and in other projects of Kryzhanovsky – inventors got acquainted even during study in the St. Petersburg State University.

"I thought out techniques, did mathematical modeling, thought out algorithms, and Armen as the ingenious programmer transferred these algorithms to a program code", – Edward Kryzhanovsky says[1].

Partners after a series of researches could adapt a technique on the basis of bioelectrography for a problem of screening of a status of the person, including for identification of risks of different diseases. The device is already put in production (the platform is in St. Petersburg). In 2017 to sale the company offers several models of the device, the most modest complete set will cost 68,000 rub.

In krounoskop it is enough to place a finger, the high-frequency electromagnetic field is created inside, around a finger the discharge is created. And already form, intensity, the area of a luminescence and other characteristics of discharge describe parts of a psychophysiological status of the person.

"Inside the video camera is located, it "snatches out" the image, transfers it to the computer which analyzes that using the special program", – Kryzhanovsky says.

In principle, the founder of the company recognizes that the technique is closer to complementary, than than to classical medicine.

Inventors were engaged in diagnostic developments generally on own means. Including market sales helped – most quicker paid off krounoskop in which at the initial stage invested 2 million rubles (the owner estimated the total amount of investments by 2017 approximately at 15 million rubles).
