On the basis of the order of the Ministry of Education, science and youth policy of Zabaykalsky Krai of 3/4/2016 No. 136 since 3/4/2016 branches GPOU "Chita Polytechnical College" in the village Red Chikoy (the former Public Educational Institution of Secondary Vocational Education Krasnochikoysky Agrarian and Pedagogical Technical School) and in the city Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky are open (the former Public Educational Institution of Secondary Vocational Education Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky Professional and Pedagogical Technical School)

Since January 1, 2015 the college changed the name for the Public professional educational institution "Chita Polytechnical College". Abbreviated name: GPOU "ChPTK".
2012
On the basis of the order of the Ministry of Education, science and youth policy of Zabaykalsky Krai of August 30, 2012 No. 1006, Order of September 13, 2012 No. 210. Ministries of Education, science and youth policy of Zabaykalsky Krai, Order of September 11, 2012. Department of state property and the land relations of Zabaykalsky Krai the Public educational institution of secondary vocational education "Chita Timber College" is renamed into Public educational institution of secondary vocational education "Chita Polytechnical College".

On the basis of change and addition in the Charter of Chita Timber College registered by Registration and Licensing Chamber registration number 493 of March 15, 2000 public educational institution of secondary vocational education "Chita Timber College" is under authority of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
1997
On the basis of the change and addition in the Charter of the Chita timber college registered by Registration and Licensing Chamber registration number 2416 of August 12, 1997. The Chita timber college is public educational institution of secondary vocational education and is transferred to the Ministry of the general and professional education of the Russian Federation.
1994
Since January 01, 1994 on the basis of order No. 508/434 of December 10, 1993. The Ministries of Education of the Russian Federation "About transfer of average special educational institutions of an industrial profile" the Chita timber college is transferred to the jurisdiction of the State committee of the Russian Federation on the higher education.
1992
Order No. 262 of June 19, 1992. The Ministries of Education of RSFSR "About transfer of average special educational institutions to maintaining the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation" since July 01, 1992. The Chita timber college, Chita, is transferred to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
1990
The order of the Ministry of the forest industry of the USSR of June 08, 1990 No. 154 "About reorganization of the Leningrad technical school of the pulp-and-paper and woodworking industry, the Moscow technical school of the furniture industry and the Chita polytechnical technical school in the highest professional schools – colleges" to educational institution appropriates the name – the Chita timber college, to the USSR which is in maintaining the Ministry of the forest industry.

According to the Resolution of the Chita Economic council of September 04, 1962 No. 121 the Chita technical school to refer to as: Chita polytechnical technical school.
1949
Organization experienced a rebirth according to the Order of Council of Ministers of the USSR of May 07, 1949 No. 6294r Moscow as technical school on training of specialists on mechanization of logging and power engineering specialists of logging – the Chita technical school subordinated to the Ministry of the forest and paper industry of the USSR.
1923
In 1923 the technical school was separated into forest, mountain and agricultural. Since 1927. The Chita timber technical school – one of large average special educational institutions of Chita.
