History
2023: Sale of the plant to the Escaro company of businessman Alexander Podsekin
The Swedish Eskaro Group AB, as well as its Estonian subsidiary Eskaro AS, sold their shares (49% and 51%, respectively) in the St. Petersburg manufacturer of paints and varnishes Eskaro Chemical AS. This enterprise was bought by Eskaro JSC businessman Alexander Podsekin, who is a co-owner of the industrial Alliance Park and the Volkhonka speech laboratory. Information about the deal appeared at the end of November 2023.
The change of the owner of the company with reference to the materials of "Kontur. Focus" on November 27, 2023 was reported by the publication "Business Petersburg." It notes that Escaro Chemical AS specializes in the production of paints and varnishes - paints, putties, soils, adhesives, etc. under the trademarks Kapral, Aura and Eskaro. According to open sources, the Eskaro international group by the end of November 2023 also includes production and commercial enterprises in Belarus, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Estonia.
"Business Petersburg" recall that this is not the first major deal to sell a paint factory in the northern capital. Earlier, the St. Petersburg plant Teknos was bought by the Russian Invasta Capital, owned by entrepreneur Mikhail Baranov, Valery Andosov and Roman Dudinov.[1]
2020
In 2020, it was reported about the merger of the Russian subsidiary of the Eskaro Chemical AS group with the Rostov company Stolyar, which produces paints under the Optimist brand. The purpose of the merger was to strengthen its position in the paint and varnish market.
2002-2007
Eskaro began building a plant in St. Petersburg in 2002. Investments in the project then amounted to 2.8 million euros. First of all, production was put into operation in 2003, the plant with a capacity of 30,000 tons of products per year began to operate in 2007.
