2024: The volume of investments in the construction of the airport is disclosed - 5 billion rubles

On October 14, 2024, it became known about the construction of a new international airport "Golden Ring" in Yaroslavl. The project is estimated at more than ₽5 billion and will be implemented through private investment. The completion of the construction and commissioning of the new airport complex is scheduled for 2027.

According to AviaPort.Ru, the Governor of the Yaroslavl Region Mikhail Evraev said that the design of the airport has been underway for six months and should be completed in 2025, after which the investor will begin construction and installation work. The new airport will be built on the basis of the existing Tunoshna Airport, which was previously a military airfield.

The architectural appearance of the new terminal was determined during an open competition. The building will be shaped like a glowing gold ring, matching the name of the airport and reflecting the tourist appeal of the region. The project provides for the creation of a large transport hub with a passenger terminal designed to serve up to 1 million passengers per year.

The new airport complex will combine passenger and cargo terminals. The layout of the main two-story building of the terminal involves the separation of the flows of departing and arriving passengers. The cargo terminal will function as a logistics center with a three-story administrative block and a large warehouse.

A feature of the project will be its connection with the river infrastructure - the airport is planned to be connected to the pier on the Volga, which will allow integrating air and water communication.

Governor Evraev stressed that the new airport will expand the geography of flights and reach a permanent international connection. Currently, there are regular flights from Yaroslavl to Kazan, Mineralnye Vody, Samara, St. Petersburg and Sochi.^[1]
