1990s: Transformation into St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin
The institute retained its name until the 1990s, when it was transformed into the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin.
1932: Transformation into Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture
In 1932, INPI was transformed into the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, which in 1944 was named after Ilya Efimovich Repin.
1930: Reorganization into the Institute of Proletarian Fine Arts. Faculty of Architecture abolished
In 1930, VKHUTEIN was reorganized into the Institute of Proletarian Fine Arts (INPI). The Faculty of Architecture was abolished, its students were transferred to the Leningrad Institute of Public Utilities Engineers (LIIX, the former Institute of Civil Engineers).
1922: Transformation into the Higher Institute of Art and Technology
In 1922 they were transformed into the Higher Art and Technical Institute (VKHUTEIN, LVKHTI).

In 1921, the workshops were renamed the Petrograd State Art and Training Workshops at the recreated Academy of Arts.
1918: Abolition of the Academy of Arts and opening of PGSHUM
On April 13, 1918, by decree of the Council of People's Commissars, the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (formerly the Imperial) was abolished, the funds of the academic museum were determined for transfer to the Russian Museum, the Higher Art School at the Academy was subject to reorganization. On October 10, 1918, the reformed School was opened, called the Petrograd State Free Art and Training Workshops (PGSHUM).
