2021: The Otkrytiye bank creates digital bank

On January 11, 2021 it became known of the new project of Otkrytiya bank. It is about digital bank "Moon" which head appoints the deputy of board, the head of the retail Opening block Veniamin Polyantsev.

According to Interfax, to the staff of Opening announced creation of neobank on January 11, 2021. The press service of bank reported to the agency that Opening masters market segments in which steady growth of business is possible, and Polyantsev will head the new project on creation of "the strong digital company" within the Opening group.

The retail block and control block will be integrated by regional network of Otkrytiye bank. The new division will be headed by the board member of bank, the head of regional network Alexander Pakhomov, he will start the new responsibilities in February, 2021.

"Opening" creates digital bank "Moon"

Interfax notes that neobanks to which the Moon project belongs have no branches and work exclusively online. Examples of such banks in Russia are Tinkoff Bank, Tochka bank and Modulbank. One more feature of neobanks is that they do not need the separate license for activity implementation. Their work can be organized according to the license of parent credit institution.

The Otkrytiye bank continues strategy implementation which essence — transition from transformation of the systems and technologies which got to group in inheritance from the credit institutions which were its part to innovations, implementation of the innovative technological solutions for all categories of clients and optimization of bank procedures.

Are defined by the main objectives of IT strategy further development of IT platforms based on microservice architecture, wide use of tools of analytics in all canals for expansion of cross-sellings and personalisation of client offers, start of new services for creation of omnichannel client experience, creation of office of digital transformation.^[1]
