The northwest investigation department on transport of Investigative Committee at prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation is formed on September 7, 2007.

History

The office of Northwest investigation department on transport of Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is deployed in St. Petersburg. The competence of this management extends to 11 regions in the Northwestern Federal District, on 3 subjects of Central Federal District (The Ivanovo, Kostroma and Yaroslavl regions), to the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, the Vladimir and Kirov regions (on sections of the Northern railroad) and also on the internal sea waters and the territorial sea washing coast of these administrative educations. In the subordinated territory the customs which is a part of the Northwestern Customs Office performs the activity.

As a part of Northwest SU six Territorial Offices work. In structure of central office of SU five departments:

• department financial and logistics;
• department of reception of citizens and documentary providing;
• department of investigation of especially important issues;
• department of criminalistics and department of procedural control.
