2025: Participation in the cartel at the auction for the supply of medical tools for ₽1,2 billion, according to the FAS
in Federal Antimonopoly Service Russia May 2025, she discovered a medical cartel during a tender for the supply of medical instruments and consumables totaling ₽1,2 billion. The agency opened a case of violation of antimonopoly legislation against three companies: OOO Focus"," Otrimed LLC and Extravijn LLC.
According to TASS, signs of violation of the law were revealed at tenders that were held throughout Russia. The Antimonopoly Service suspects these organizations of conspiring to maintain prices when participating in competitive procedures.
According to the FAS, the total amount of initial maximum contract prices tentatively amounted to ₽ 1,214,019,349. These funds were planned to be used to purchase medical tools and consumables for the country's medical institutions.
During the audit, specialists from the antimonopoly department found that companies could coordinate their actions at the auction, which led to artificial maintenance of high prices for medical products. Such actions contradict the principles of free competition and infringe on the interests of state customers.
Representatives of the antimonopoly service explained that if guilt is established, organizations face negotiable fines.
The FAS emphasizes that cartel collusions in the market of medical devices and equipment pose a special public danger, since they lead to an overestimation of the spending of budget funds allocated for health care. This negatively affects the availability of medical services for the population and the effectiveness of the health care system as a whole.[1]
