2023: Joining the Pskov City Clinical Hospital and Velikiye Luki Interdistrict Hospital

The Pskov city clinical hospital and the Velikie Luki interdistrict will be annexed to the regional hospital. Both institutions will become its branches. This was announced at the end of October 2023 by the Health Committee of the Pskov Region.

The hospital will be alone. We do not close any buildings, no structures. Everything that functions to this day will function. Only the management model will be rebuilt, - explained Marina Garashchenko, chairman of the health committee of the Pskov region.

It is assumed that the reorganization will begin in November 2023, and will be completed by March 30, 2024. Garashchenko noted that 350 complaints were received in January-October 2023 about the quality of medical care provided in the Velikiye Luki interdistrict hospital, and 90 times complained about the work of the Pskov city hospital.

The head of the committee also noted that in case of a shortage of doctors in the Velikie Luki interdistrict hospital, specialists from Pskov will be sent there. Evgeny Panferov, chief physician of the Pskov Regional Clinical Hospital, recalled that material incentives and the creation of high-quality working conditions remain an instrument for retaining personnel in workplaces. In turn, he promised to work in this direction.

By joining hospitals as separate branches of the Pskov Regional Clinical Hospital, we increase the status of institutions, provide high-quality medical services to patients, because colleagues from the regional hospital will accompany and oversee the work of the branches, - said the chairman of the health committee of the Pskov Region.

Thus, the three largest medical institutions in the region will be combined into one. The unification of the regional medical institution with the Pskov hospital will solve the problem when "Pskov residents seek treatment in the regional hospital, bypassing the city hospital," said Nadezhda Ragozina, deputy chairman of the Pskov Region Health Committee.^[1]
