2024: Opening a store in Minsk

In one of the shopping centers in Minsk in the fall of 2024, the first company store of household appliances Redmond will appear in Belarus. The company announced this on September 13, 2024. The brand's goods were previously presented in the republic, in retail chain stores and on marketplaces. However, the Redmond branded store with a full range of equipment opens in Belarus for the first time. While in Russia the chain has more than 60 outlets throughout the country. The development of its own international trading network is one of the company's strategic tasks for the next few years.

In our opinion, the Belarusian market is a promising direction. We have long been looking for suitable retail space here and for the opening of the first store we chose a room of more than 100 sq.m. in one of the popular shopping centers in Minsk, - said Andrei Belobrodsky.

According to him, the main advantage of branded stores for the buyer is that all devices can be touched, assess the weight and quality of materials, understand the functions and get expert advice from sellers. In addition, the official representation of the brand in a particular region increases the level of trust in the company, in its products, and also helps to resolve issues with the service of equipment.

It is planned that in this store in Minsk the same assortment will be presented as in Russian stores of the chain, at the same prices after transferring them to local currency. It is assumed that the main feature of Belarusian stores will be a special approach to working with customers. Of the announced plans of the company: in stores it is planned to hold master classes and tastings of dishes prepared using Redmond branded equipment, and in the first month after the opening of the store, customers will receive discounts of up to 40%.

Redmond appliances are aimed at middle-income buyers; in Belarus, it is planned to maintain the same price positioning. Redmond has been on the market for 18 years. The brand assortment includes more than 1000 positions, many of which can be integrated into the Smart Home ecosystem (and some of the solutions are patented).

2022: Corporate conflict begins

At the end of November 2022, it became known about the corporate conflict that began with the manufacturer of household appliances Redmond. Co-owner of the group Andrei Sinyavin is trying to challenge his removal from management of the company, as well as the termination of the license agreement with the Innovation Solutions company controlled by him for the use of the Redmond trademark.

The entrepreneur, as Vedomosti writes, filed seven lawsuits against Redmond structures with the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The defendant, in turn, filed a response lawsuit against Sinyavin's company for 10.7 million rubles, follows from the file of cases.

Redmond has a corporate conflict

Redmond said that indeed in August 2022 they chose a new leader at an extraordinary meeting. At the same time, Sinyavin was not present at the meeting, since he has been living abroad for several years - in Russia he is wanted in the case of tax evasion. Sinyavin was put on the wanted list in 2017.

In a corporate dispute, the court supported Sinyavin and on October 26, 2022 declared illegal the results of the August general meeting of shareholders. The proceedings on the termination of the license agreement were suspended until the end of the courts on the claim for the removal of the entrepreneur from the post of general director.

The license agreement with Sinyavin's structure was terminated due to violations of its terms, Redmond added, but did not disclose details. Lawyers interviewed by the newspaper explain that the decision to terminate the agreement deprives Innovative Solutions of the opportunity to trade and advertise goods. At the same time, the court may take the side of the entrepreneur if he proves that when the contract was terminated, they violated the norms of the law and the agreement itself.

Redmond makes vacuum cleaners, irons, slow cookers and other small appliances under its own brand. In Russia, the company has almost 60 stores, including four, operating under a franchise (by November 2022).^[1]
