2016: General Electric buys SLM Solutions for 683 million euros
In September, 2016 the electrotechnical concern General Electric (GE) announced SLM Solutions acquisition. Thanks to this absorption the American corporation aims to improve the business in the field of three-dimensional printing.
On September 26, 2016 GE published the document containing a public offer about purchase of all stocks SLM Solutions. For one security of the German company the American offers 38 euros that more than for 50% exceeds weighted average rate of quotations of SLM Solutions in three months prior to the declaration of the transaction. SLM Solutions is estimated by the potential buyer at 683 million euros.
As of September 26, 2016 sale of SLM Solutions was approved by the shareholders owning 31.5% of stocks of the company. The conclusion of the final agreement requires permission of security holders with the general packet not less than from 75% of the stocks which are in circulation. Time for thought — till October 24, 2016.

Earlier in September, 2016 GE announced acquisition of one more company from the sphere 3D - printings — Arcam. Before since 2010 GE invested about $1.5 billion in this market. The company plans that by 2020 technologies of three-dimensional printing will generate it about $1 billion annual revenue.[1]
