The company was founded in 1920 and originally specialized in production of electrotechnical products. In the late seventies Saia-Burgess of one of the first began production of the industrial programmable logic controllers (PLC). In 2006 the company announced the counters of the electric power which are easily integrated into automation systems and provided to the market the first-ever touchpad with the built-in Web browser. The company was a pioneer of implementation of Web technologies and one of the first provided a serial PLC with the built-in Web server.
