History

2016

Autodesk and Trimble Compatibility Agreement

Autodesk and Trimble announced in the summer of 2016 that they had signed a compatibility agreement. Its goal is to help architects, engineers, customers, and contractors reduce project costs and time by optimizing business processes. The agreement will allow Autodesk and Trimble to improve the interoperability of company products. It symbolizes a shift in the architectural and construction industry, in which both companies worked for a fairly long time. Instead of seeing each other as competitors, they will work together to provide users with greater flexibility in their workflows.

In accordance with the terms of the agreement, Autodesk and Trimble will take steps to accelerate interaction through the exchange of application programming interfaces (APIs) and tools for developers. This will allow both companies to improve the way they share data, as well as create new workflows in their software products. Solution integration will allow engineering and construction professionals to share information models, design files, and other data, as well as reuse information in design and construction at all stages of the project.

2015

Tekla moved to the Trimble brand

On December 2, 2015, Trimble announced that from January 1, 2016, Tekla Corporation will operate under the common Trimble brand as part of Trimble Buildings. Trimble acquired Tekla in 2011. The rebranding reflects the evolutionary development of the corporation and the change in its vision.

Since its acquisition, Trimble and Tekla have pursued a common business vision: transforming the life cycle of buildings with state-of-the-art, affordable, and intuitive technologies, and stimulating broad collaboration across the industry.

Combining knowledge in this field and a complete set of technologies and capabilities, Trimble develops customer-oriented solutions for transforming the processes of planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of buildings and civil infrastructure. The new name of the merged companies reflects their concern for the needs of customers and embodies an open approach to building information modeling (BIM). The rebranding strengthened software Tekla's relationship with Trimble's Design-build-operate (DBO) portfolio of solutions. After the rebranding process is complete, Trimble customers using Tekla software will continue to enjoy innovative solutions and get the best service in their class.

"Trimble's expertise, technology, and investment in development and research enable us to market solutions that transform the construction cycle. The brand name is an important indicator showing how we position ourselves and what we strive for, "says Risto Räty, CEO of Trimble Structures. - Our collaboration in the construction industry will become even more effective thanks to the closer integration of Tekla software with the full portfolio of solutions "design - construction - operation" Trimble. "

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process of building model creation, transmission and analysis that is actively used by builders, engineers, and architects around the world. The deeper integration of Tekla Building Information Modeling software with Trimble solutions for structural assessment, project management and BIM applications will create a range of productive solutions for contractors in all countries.

Contract extension with Nucor

Tekla, part of the group, and Trimble Nucor the steel corporation in, USA announced in the fall of 2015 the conclusion of the third multi-year agreement to extend cooperation in the architecture, engineering and construction markets, begun in 2009. Additional Nucor divisions are standardizing on the basis of ON Tekla to provide modeling of construction information for customers in. North America

Nucor will continue to invest software in Tekla for building information modeling (Building Information Modeling,), BIM implementing it as a key in several business units, including the Nucor Buildings Group, Harris Rebar and Nucor Grating, and using Tekla Structures as a solution for BIM in creating cost-effective and accurate projects. The Vulcraft/Verco Group, part of Nucor, plans to adopt Tekla Structures standards in all areas of the internal steel reinforcement specification development process.

The two companies will work together on initiatives that include training key people involved in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), effective work processes in areas from development to manufacturing and construction, as well as training students in the skills necessary to work in the construction industry actively switching to BIM. The companies intend to expand the scope of joint training and practical training for industry workers and students, focusing on supporting appropriate educational programs in educational institutions and advanced training centers located near dozens of Nucor production facilities.

Tekla Building & Construction is part of the Trimble Buildings division, which aims to create solutions to improve the interaction, efficiency and accuracy of development, construction and operation processes. Tekla is involved in the development of technologies based on digital information models and contributes to the growth of competitiveness of its customers in industries such as construction, infrastructure management and energy. Founded in 1966, Tekla serves customers in more than 100 countries, has a global partner seat and offices in more than 20 countries.
