History

2023: Opening of Vietnam's largest data centre

On October 25, 2023, the Vietnam Postal and Telecommunications Group VNPT announced the opening of the country's largest data center (DPC). It is located in the suburbs of Hanoi in the Khoalak high-tech park, formed with the aim of conducting research and development work, training IT specialists, creating various products and software .

The data center has a useful area of ​ ​ approximately 23 thousand square meters. It is capable of accommodating up to 2 thousand server racks with equipment. The site received Uptime Tier III certification, which assumes an availability rate of at least 99.98% and ensuring the functioning of IT systems in 24x7 mode.

VNPT Announces Nation's Largest Data Center (DPC)

It is noted that VNPT is the leading telecommunications operator in Vietnam, and therefore was able to provide the new data center with ultra-fast network connections. Information transfer speeds average 2 Gbps per rack for internal connections and 0.5 Gbps per rack for international network connections. The equipment for the data center was supplied by such well-known companies as Hitachi, Siemens and others.

N + 1 redundancy scheme is implemented to ensure reliable and continuous operation even during repair and maintenance. Advanced security measures are provided, including protection against unauthorized entry. The data center is managed by a team of well-trained and experienced engineers and IT professionals, most of whom have specialized certifications. Customers are provided with 24/7 technical support.

Using the services of the new data center, customers can be fully confident in a stable network connection, high security, fault tolerance and reliability, VNPT said in a statement.[1]
