Flipbox

FlipBox - multifunction all-in-one the device comprising the whole integration project on equipping by business and negotiation multimedia and audiovisions.

FlipBox is simple in use and without connection of additional devices (for example, the computer or the terminal of a video conference-system) provides an opportunity to write and draw as on an interactive board, to show materials about a flash carrier and the notebook screen, to save and send them by mail, to hold the presentations, to go on-line, to hold video conferencing sessions. According to the solution designer, the head of Development center of the software of Polymedia group Ivan Vakhmyanin, thanks to convenience of using, speed of installation and profitable cost, investments made in equipment of the meeting room can be used really effectively now.

"So far in the market of interactive and multimedia devices for business there was no product capable to satisfy to all needs of the corporate user yet, - the CEO of Polymedia Novikova Elena says. - Usual all the user experience level, deep integration with social networks and cloud services, the high level of information security and they are everything it is provided in our new laconic solution".

The first modification of FlipBox has five basic functions. First, it is a digital marker board (flipchart — from here and the name of the device) with a printability of drawings, preserving them on USB drives, sendings to public information services (file storages, social networks) and by e-mail. Secondly, display of files in different formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, video, etc.) with a possibility of adding of comments. Files can be loaded from USB drives or from network resources. Thirdly, display of contents of the portable screen (or stationary) the computer, at the same time installation of any programs on the last is not required. The observer is enough to open and to gather the display IP address — Java application which will broadcast the image of the screen in real time will be loaded. Also wires are not necessary: FlipBox is connected to the PC on a wireless network.

The device is equipped with the video camera of high resolution (720p) and is compatible to all modern systems of a video conferencing, including LifeSize, Cisco and some other producers and also Video conference service. It is in the long term going to enter support of Skype.

Thus, FlipBox can replace in small negotiation and conference rooms the presentation computer, the video conferencing terminal, a marker board and the interactive display. For information security support preserving of any information is not provided in memory of the device: at power supply switching off all data are erased.

The device is based on the Windows Embedded operating system and supports all modern opportunities of a touch control.

2014: Flipbox is integrated with Prognoz Platform

On February 7, 2014 the development center of Polymedia company announced integration of the application for the intelligent Flipbox display with the Prognoz Platform software product.

Use of solutions on the Prognoz Platform platform helps with software environment of Flipbox to heads of the highest rank - from governors to top managers of the large companies - to obtain operational data, indicators and reports and, due to interactivity of Flipbox, to work effectively with the received data at meetings and the presentations. Detailing of necessary data to specific indicators is provided in one contact that does discussion interactive and more visual.

The intelligent display displays, both desktop, and web applications of the Prognoz software product. During the meeting participants can also address fixed functions of Flipbox – to open flipchart, to pass to the screen of the notebook of the speaker, to connect by video conference with the responsible person.

2013: Flipbox 1.2.0

On October 21, 2013 the development center of Polymedia company provided upgraded version of the software of Flipbox under sequence number 1.2.0.

• Function of demonstration of the screen of the notebook became much more convenient and simpler. The compatibility with third-party software which can be installed on the computer and which can interfere with connection setup and the correct work of function of demonstration of the screen is improved.

• One more method of demonstration of the screen of the notebook is added: specially developed FlipboxAgent application finds and offers all Flipbox-devices of a local network of the user without the need for input of the IP address. Such method of demonstration of the screen through the application is faster, convenient and compatible. The option of demonstration of the screen of the notebook via the website, however, still remains available as alternative. At the same time both options are completely compatible to Windows 8 now.

• For prevention of failures in operation of the device because of interruptions of a power supply or incorrect completion of a session in it (for example, premature switching off of a power supply) developers provided the special system of reserve recovery that many times increased stability and reliability of Flipbox.

• The additional mechanism of protection of the hard drive is installed. Now the possibility of support of the additional hardware is provided in Flipbox. In this release the possibility of use of the Jabra Speak microphone is already provided that will allow to improve sound quality at video conferencing sessions. Management from a control device of the presentation - Logitech Wireless Presenter, for remote browsing of pages of any documents, regulation of volume, voice calls, inclusion/switching off of the microphone is possible.
