Outsourcing of office printing, or Managed Print Services, is a transfer to management to the external contractor of printing infrastructure of the company. The contractor undertakes all processes necessary for providing printing, and the customer pays for each printed page.
The main advantage and the purpose of MPS is cost reduction of the customer. But to estimate cost reduction rather difficult task; besides, each consumer has specific purposes upon transition to outsourcing of printing. In the Russian realities quite often there is a situation when the customer does not receive a sure material gain, but nevertheless selects services of management of printing in some other the reasons. Changes in the reporting of the enterprise, failure from non-core assets, simplification of an organization structure at the expense of an output for staff of the whole division, orderliness of an order of corporate printing concern them. In general printing process and service becomes simpler and transparent.

The market of services of printing in 2013 will grow as believe in [1], for 20%. For comparison, the world market of MPS in 2012 made 11.8 billion dollars that is 9.2% more, than in the 2011th.
2011
IDC released in the spring of 2012 the first research of the Russian market of services of integrated management of printing (Managed Print Services, MPS). According to its results, the market of MPS for 2011 grew to 49.5 million dollars. The main characteristic of the market is the dynamism of its development. At the same time, according to estimates of analysts, the lion share in growth of the market was contributed by implementation of several large projects.
From all service providers of MPS of special attention two competitors – Xerox and HP which are totally owning more than a half of the market deserve. It is also worth noting that in the Russian market of MPS constantly appear and disappear a great number of small players, and, thus, the market is in a dynamic equilibrium. Cardinally only the international outsourcing operators meanwhile waiting for more favorable situation in the market are capable to change alignment of forces. Part of them studies demand for a long time and carries out pilot projects for the purpose of assessment of prospects of the Russian market and payback of the participation.
Outsourcing of printing is most demanded by retail retail chain stores, banks, the consulting companies — those at whom offices are territorially scattered. For example, the retail retail chain stores having head and regional offices, the logistic centers and also tens or hundreds of shops through the whole country, as a rule, grow due to acquisition of the companies to which inherit the park of a printing equipment, often worn-out. Having given printing on outsourcing, the retail chain stores have no need to independently change, service and increase the park of printing devices — this care the contractor therefore resources for the solution of priority tasks are released undertakes, and investments go to core business.
By estimates of Xerox, in 2012 no more than 5% of all expenses on office printing in a segment of large business are the share of outsourcing services. It is comparable to an IT outsourcing share in the total amount of the Russian IT market. According to forecasts of Xerox, by 2014 this indicator of penetration of MPS will increase to 12-15%.
2010
According to IDC (August, 2011) the volume of this market in Russia in 2010 was 42 mln. dollars.
The list of the leading suppliers is headed Xerox, HP and also by a number of the Russian operators of outsourcing.
In spite of the fact that services of integrated management of printing in the Russian market are offered for a long time, demand for them began to grow quickly in the last two years: crisis urged on users to search of new ways of cost reduction, and there was it against the background of growth of the overall level of trust to outsourcing in general.
"2010 it is possible by the right to consider year of awakening of interest in outsourcing of services of printing – the leading analyst of IDC Ismail Belov says. – For equipment manufacturers and also their partners entry into this market guarantees stability of income gained due to sale of services. For the client transition to outsourcing allows to get rid of "dead" assets on balance of the enterprise, to reduce costs for printing and also to increase labor productivity at the expense of an exception of non-core links of business processes".
According to IDC, the Russian market of services of integrated management of printing is far from saturation and has all necessary premises for serious growth in the next several years.
