Automatic cleaning of a mailbox of spam. Automatic filtering of letters

Since August 4, 2010 users of Hotmail had an upgraded version of this mail service. Now more than 350 million people from more than 220 countries of the world, including Russia, can use such opportunities as - automatic cleaning of a mailbox of spam and undesirable correspondence, automatic filtering of letters, viewing the received photos and videos directly in the letter, virtual Windows Live Messenger, integration with social networks allowing to respond, for example, to offers on friendship from Facebook directly from the letter. Since the end October the new version of service is available also to the Russian users.

Among the most interesting functions it is possible to select the following:

• integration into Microsoft Office applications of Web Apps thanks to which it is possible to create, browse and edit the documents Microsoft Office enclosed in e-mails directly in the browser, even without saving them on the computer. At the same time in case of joint work over the document the changes made by all participants of process will be displayed and remain in real time;
• sending up to 10 GB of investments through SkyDrive storage where there is automatic preserving of all files attached to the letter. The addressee as a result receives not the huge letter but only the link, having passed on which he can browse or download all photos or documents sent it;
• the Active Viewing function allows to browse the photos and the attached links enclosed in letters directly in the Hotmail window without transitions to other pages and resources (an opportunity extends, in particular, to video with Youtube, photos from Flickr, notifications of social networks Facebook MySpace LinkedIn, notifications about shipments of services of express delivery DHL FedEx , etc.);
• the Clean function allows to clean quickly your box, having deleted future messages from unwanted addressees (for example, a subscription to mailings) or one movement of a mouse to transfer all messages from a certain sender to other folder;
• the "Grouping of Messages on Conversations" function allows to integrate separate fragments of one dialog in a uniform conversation in a format of one letter. This function is by default turned off that users could select whether they want to see each letter separately or in "chain";
• integration with social networks such as Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, express mail, the photowebsites and so forth gives the chance to read comments, to accept invitations from friends and to add friends directly from a mailbox, without passing to pages of other websites;
• in November, 2010 it is announced availability of function which useful to those who have mail on other mail resources. Using this function it is possible to receive and send letters from other addresses (for example, Yandex, Rambler, etc.), at the same time using all opportunities of new Hotmail, including data encryption. The new feature began to be developed at the beginning of November and will become available to users worldwide soon. Microsoft does possible work with letters of any mail accounts in one window to make even more available to a possibility of Hotmail, such as viewing and editing documents of Office in the browser, viewing a photo and video directly in the letter, the improved spam filter of Microsoft Smart Screen, sending big investments, mass removal of messages using the Clean function, etc.

Methods of protection of a mailbox and safe stay in the Internet:

• the built-in Microsoft Smartscreen filter which distinguishes spam and dangerous investments, warning users about attempts of phishing attacks;
• "the single password" – the special service generating and sending to the user through SMS the single password for its use on public computers (not to leave anywhere the this password to a mailbox);
• use by default SSL of enciphering for protection of all connections through wireless networks;
• blocking of access to the mail account in a case of repeated attempts of introduction of the wrong password – thus, service prevents malefactors to pick up the code to a box of the registered user.
• in case of access lock to a box or just at a password zabyvaniye the user can open the personal account from "the checked computer" which can be only the PC specified at registration or change of settings.
• the user can apply mobile phone number for which Hotmail will send the confidential code for recovery of the password as confirmation of authenticity of the rights.

Interactive and dynamic e-mails based on Hotmail Active Views

In December, 2010 Microsoft announced start of interactive and dynamic e-mails in the Hotmail service and some services of partners – the functionality is implemented on the basis of the new Hotmail Active Views platform. The Hotmail Active Views platform allows to do e-mails practically same functional as normal web pages. So, directly in a window of the letter it is possible to make search in the website or in Network, to do orders of goods or services, etc.

According to representatives of Microsoft, the new Active Views platform is safer, than the JavaScript language that allows to protect users from cracking of a system through such letters. Now development of software giant passes test among a limited number of users.
