Office 2010 became the most sold product of Microsoft company in the fourth quarter 2010. One of probable factors of unprecedented success is reduction in cost of a packet for home users and students.

Sales of Microsoft Office 2010 - especially for consumers – saturated the reporting of the last quarter, declared at the same time Microsoft company and analysts last week. "Office 2010 is the most successful consumer version which we ever delivered, the product also very well is implemented in a business segment", - the chief financial executive of MicrosoftPeter Klein told the analyst of Wall Street in telephone conversation.

The Microsoft business division including Office line entered $6.03 million revenue during the last quarter 2010, is 24% more, than during the same period the previous year. Revenues of this division were 30% of total sales of Microsoft in a quarter. It is the largest income among groups of the company.

For comparison, income from Microsoft Windows reached 25% of revenues of Microsoft for this period. "Success of Office 2010, frankly speaking, became a small surprise", -Rob Helm, the analyst of research company which is concentrated on development of Microsoft [[Helm Rob|]] says.

In the fourth quarter 2009 the division of Office provided 26% of revenues of Microsoft while 38% were the share of division of Windows. At that time the group sold Office 2007, already two-year product by then. "Sales of Office 2010 grow quicker, than sales of the PC, - Helm told. - It is mirroring of what happened in last year, - he added, referring to growth in sales of Windows 7 at the end of 2009 which caused jump of sales of computers".

Helm says that updates for the enterprises were one of factors promoting recent success of Office. "I think that there are many enterprises of small and medium business which set updates, and after that decided to use Office 2010", - he told.

"Office 2010 is the most sold consumer version of Office in the history, with the sales volume of licenses, more than for 50% the advancing Office 2007 in the same period after its start", -Bill Koefoed, the general investor relations manager [[Kefid Bill|]] said.

Reporting to the commission of the USA on securities and the exchanges (SEC), Microsoft stated that while sales of Office 2010 for business still make the most part of income, sales for consumers increased by 49% in comparison with previous year – more than three times (from 15%) having exceeded growth in sales of Office for business.

Possibly, reduction of prices played a role in sharp sales growth to consumers, Helm told, noting reduction in cost of some editions of a product, in particular, focused on the house consumer and students.
