The company showed prototypes of several systems which are at a start stage including tablets, notebooks and desktops of "all-in-one". The new interface significantly differs from a traditional desktop of Windows on which Microsoft relied for decades.

On the devices having touch screens, the Windows 8 interface is controlled using gestures. In this OS the new level of multitasking is also entered. If during video playback the user opens other application, the sound from video goes a background. Function under the name Snap separates the screen, placing according to one working application from each party.

Windows Explorer and desktop of Windows, and as tells Microsoft are still available, OS will be compatible to applications and peripheral devices of present Windows 7.

Nevertheless probably there still is to what to learn and learn to developers as Microsoft announced a new conference under the name Build which will take place in Anaheim (California), in September where developers can learn how to create programs for new OS.

Microsoft also reports that Windows 8 will work on ARM processors, chips of Qualcomm and Texas Instruments producers and also on x86 platform from Intel and AMD. ARM chips are used in the majority of present smartphones and tablets.

Microsoft created Windows 8 for satisfaction of requirements of the changing computer landscape.
