Product Information Management (PIM)

Product information management (PIM)  is product information management. Process of data collection and processing of products, necessary for production. This technology designed to centralize product information management. So to bring uniform base under all data necessary for promotion of a product on the market through one or several sales channels. PIM is a PDM system component. Usually the PIM technology is used with assistance of several geographically remote points of sale, when using in work of multilingual data and also for support and data modification about a product through the centralized directory.


Other extremely important PIM function is an opportunity to work with information obtained from the most various sources namely: web of the websites, printing directories, paper reports and, of course, with electronic data. In PIM not only the possibility of storage of the raznoformatny information created in different environments and used in different contexts but also its systematization and reduction to the uniform standard is implemented. The PIM technology allows to centralize data on production, acquisition and communication with clients, irrespective of means of their viewing for further permanent use in IT systems, irrespective of the language environment and also for the most various removal and printing. Also the PIM technology is effective solution on collecting, management and further information processing.
