David Weisgras joined the Raytheon Company as president and chief financial officer in 2006 and left in 2020, after a merger with United Technologies (UTC), under which Raytheon Technologies Corporation was created. 2022: Appointment as CEO of Intelsat

In early March 2022, Intelsat's board of directors appointed former Raytheon top manager David Weisgras as the company's new CEO. He will head the satellite operator after bankruptcy.

As of March 2022, Weisgras is a partner in the private investment company Pine Island Capital Partners, which invests in the United States and Canada in markets such as the aerospace and defense industries, cybersecurity and infrastructure.

David Weisgras will officially take over as head of Intelsat on April 4, 2022 and will replace Steven Spengler, who announced plans to resign in October 2021 after working at Intelsat since 2003. Spengler has been the CEO of Intelsat since 2015. His departure came after the company said on February 23, 2022 that it successfully withdrew from financial restructuring after receiving $7 billion in funding. At the same time, it remains unprofitable.

Although the company has been creating history since 1960, I am most concerned about the future of Intelsat. Intelsat's restructuring deal reduced its debt from $16 billion to $7 billion, freeing the operator to invest in a multi-orbital growth strategy, said Intelsat CEO David Wajsgras.
