AirPop works at the market of protective masks since 2015. Chris Hosmer founded the company in hope to create the effective and comfortable mask protecting the user from adverse effects of the environment therefore Active + reminds the fitness tracker for lungs. For example, the mask reports when it is necessary to change the filter taking into account individual use (but not in the form of a standard reminder "each two weeks).

Hosmer notes that AirPop masks protect users from all three types of air threats. These are pathogens with which we deal within a pandemic, it effects of wildfires, dust storms and other anthropogenic environmental disasters and also the pollutants which are directly connected with human activity, for example, a remaining balance of combustion of carbon in factory emissions.

Hosmer considers that AirPop masks can really be considered as "smart" as in real time supply the user with all necessary information on the frequency of breath and volume of the inhaled and expiratory air. Besides, AirPop masks allow to manage filters and to control their status. AirPop calculates terms of replacement of the filter taking into account the geographical region and biometric data of the user that allows to individualize approach as much as possible. AirPop masks also estimate quality of an ambient air and its harm for the user.[1]
