2020: The announcement of AirTouch N20 - a nasal mask with sealant from foam with a memory effect
At the beginning of September, 2020 the ResMed company, whose products is widely presented at the Russian market, released a nasal AirTouch N20 mask for carrying out CPAP - therapy with constant positive pressure in airways. The device is supplied with sealant from foam with a memory effect.
In AirTouch N20 the patented technology of sealant from foam with UltraSoft memory effect is used. The same technology is applied in the full-front AirTouch F20 mask released the company in 2017. Thanks to such technology both masks adapt to individual bends and face contours of the patient. As a result light sealant provides optimal sealing and landing at the broad range of therapeutic pressure, thereby increasing comfort of therapy and observance of the CPAP mode.
Sealant needs to be replaced each 30 days. At timely replacement it is not required to wash it, but it is possible to wipe after each use with the wet towel wipes which are not containing alcohol. The new nasal mask was designed on the basis of an AirFit N20 mask therefore sealants of these devices are interchanged. Sealant is produced in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large.
For fixing of a mask magnetic fasteners therefore in order to avoid possible ghost effects patients should be convinced that the mask is located at distance not less than 50 mm from any active medical implant, for example, of an electropacemaker or a defibrillator are used. Besides, use of masks with magnetic components is contraindicated to patients in the presence of an intra cranial metal haemo static clip or a metal foreign matter at eye injuries.
It is said in the statement of ResMed that AirTouch N20 is available in the USA, Canada and the most part of Europe. The release of a new mask in the Pacific Rim is planned for the end of 2020.[1]
