2020: The announcement of AltiVate Anatomic CS EDGE - a prosthesis of a shoulder joint
At the end of September, 2020 the DJO company provided a prosthesis of a shoulder joint of AltiVate Anatomic CS EDGE. A new system requires less invasive procedures, than traditional shoulder rods, and should reduce cost and duration of hospitalization of patients.
Construction of AltiVate Anatomic CS EDGE is based on the special analysis of a shoulder bone which should optimize adjustment of peripheral aimed fins concerning a metafiz of a shoulder bone. AltiVate Anatomic CS EDGE has a three-pointed leg with unique toothed tips of fins that allows surgeons to use an implant for incision in a bone.
The patented porous covering from P2 titanium helps an implant to be fixed in a bone tissue in the future, providing reliable fixing and stability that is crucial at rodless installation. CS EDGE is compatible to the glenoidny AltiVate Anatomic e component + and to the patented Drop-and-Go technology for immediate fixing.
The immediate fixing reached thanks to new construction of CS EDGE and porous covering P2 allows me to use an implant at patients of any age, - Dr. Jonathan Levy from Orthopedic institute of the Sacred Cross noted. - AltiVate Anatomic CS EDGE allows to reproduce precisely anatomical structures, to minimize loss of a bone tissue and blood during transaction and to facilitate a shoulder artroplastika in out-patient conditions using effective workflow. |
Annually in the USA about 67000 procedures of total anatomic endoprosthesis replacement of a shoulder are performed, and it is expected that this number will grow by 8.6% by 2023. It is supposed that growth of the market of the artroplastiki of a shoulder will be connected with appearance of younger patients who did not address for transaction earlier.[1]
