On November 28, 2022, NPO ASTA, part of the Astima Group of Companies, announced the launch of a series of pressure regulators for water, steam and process liquid media. These equipment models have been developed specialists of the design department of the enterprise.

Start-up of serial production of pressure regulators

According to the company, pressure regulators are included European Union in HOUSING AND PUBLIC UTILITIES the fifth package of sanctions and are the most popular type of pipeline valves, the shortage of which is observed both in heat supply systems industrial and in enterprises Russia using steam and technological media.

"Asta" began serial production of pressure regulators for water, steam and process liquid media

The first four models of ASTA valves are presented in the following version:

  • Reducing valve/pressure regulator "downstream" ASTA series D123 (for steam and water)
  • Bypass valve/pressure regulator "upstream" ASTA series D223 (for water)
  • D323 Series ASTA Normal Open Differential Pressure Regulator (for water)
  • Pressure differential regulator normally closed ASTA series D423 (for water)

Pressure regulators

Main characteristics of valves:

  •  DN: 15–200
  • PN: 25 bar (for DN15... 80), 16 bar (for DN100...200)
  • t max°: 200 °С
  • Body material : high-strength cast iron VCh40
  • Type of connection: flanged
  • Working medium: steam, water, process liquid media

In addition to the above models, a bellows reduction valve is being developed for saturated and superheated steam with a temperature of up to 350 ° C.

NPO ASTA has been developing and producing industrial control valves since 2014. As part of the OGK plant, design engineers with experience in designing shut-off and control valves for high and ultra-high pressures up to PN800 bar work. The released models of pressure regulators for heat supply use industrial solutions in their design that ensure reliability and long service life, including in systems whose operating conditions, as well as the quality of the working medium, are far from ideal.

Among the structural advantages of the pressure regulators developed by NPO ASTA, the following solutions should be noted:

  • Reliable relief of the plunger due to wider channels that allow efficient operation in contaminated environments.
  • A number of engineering solutions to optimize the positioning accuracy of the plunger, as well as reduce friction in gland assemblies compared to the typical design used by most manufacturers. Due to low friction, the speed is increased, which provides a quick reaction to a sharp change in the pressure drop in the system.
  • Reliability due to the increased diameter of the stem and the design of the function of the normally open valve position.
  • A quick-assembled structure consisting of three parts with the ability to replace any of them, which allows you to repair and change the adjustment ranges without removing the valve from the pipeline.
  • For low setting pressures, a special hypersensitivity servo motor has been developed, which can be installed on the base valve or replaced during operation if the valve was originally selected incorrectly.
  • Complete maintainability of the valve by the operating services without removal from the pipeline.
  • The design of ASTA valves uses industrial materials using modern methods of surface strengthening, which ensure a long service life and stable operation of the equipment.
  • In the basic version, all the bodies of the ASTA valves are made of Russian cast iron VCh40. Due to the fact that high-strength cast iron in its properties is closer to carbon steel than to cast iron, ASTA valves have increased resistance to thermal and hydraulic shock, and also have low risks of damage due to the influence of negative temperatures in comparison with valves, the body of which is made of gray cast iron.
  • The body of the ASTA pressure regulators protects the high-temperature silicone paint, providing optimal adhesion properties. The paint does not burn out or crack at temperatures up to 400 ° C.
  • All components of ASTA pressure regulators are made of Russian materials, including elements of the housing, diaphragm, springs and seals. This allows you to fix the price in rubles without binding to foreign currencies.
