2021: Electric bicycle announcement

In September 2021, BMW introduced the electric bike i Vision AMBY. It can be managed using a smartphone app.

The novelty received a 2000 Wh battery, which provides a range of up to 300 km and three high-speed modes. In a third, you can accelerate to 60 km/h, although this is hardly legal (EU the speed limit for "electric rails" is 25 km/h). When driving at maximum speed, the range drops to 75 km.

You need to start the engine using a smartphone with a branded mobile application. It also works as a combination of devices, from the gadget you can control some functions of the devices remotely. So that the phone does not sit at the wrong moment, it is attached to the platform with induction charging.

The application allows you to manually select the driving mode and search for the bicycle on the map, shows the current state of the electric bike systems and even performs the functions of a digital key with the identification of the owner's face.

The electric power plant plays a key role in the device of the vehicle. To get access to additional electric traction, the driver just begins to twist the pedals.

According to the German manufacturer, the BMW i Vision AMBY model can be equipped with an ABS system adapted for bicycles. Systems such as the driving beam assistant and the tyre pressure monitoring system are also aimed at improving safety. A radar is provided that scans a space of 140 meters and predicts through the same mobile application about approaching machines.

The bicycle, designed for cross-country trips, received smooth and athletic lines. BMW states that the aesthetic style of i Vision AMBY "is determined by visual ease and powerful athleticism."

By September 8, 2021, the start of sales and the cost of the BMW electric bicycle are not reported.[1]
