In July, 2016 the St. Petersburg consulting company BI Consult specializing in consulting services in plot area of systems business analysis presented the boxed solution Business-Qlik for Retail Gas Stations optimized for networks of gas stations, developed on To the BI platform QlikView. The solution already underwent approbation in several largest networks of gas station.

"In recent years the market of gas station significantly changed: centralization is observed, the small companies remains less, the competition grows, the functionality of gas stations extends – gas station already both supermarket, and cafe. The structure of network is more complex, the information on work as each its component becomes more significant for acceptance of management decisions, so the need for a business intelligence grows, – Sergey Gromov, the CEO of BI Consult company comments. – For this reason we also decided to develop industry solution in which all requirements of modern networks of gas station would initially be considered".

The industry solution of Business-Qlik for Retail Gas Stations allows to analyze sales informations of both oil products, and joint products. The analysis of implementation of oil products is carried out both in cuts, standard for retail, and to specific. In particular, it is possible to analyze sales on groups of products, on the periods, in relation to prices of oil products at competitors, on location of gas station, by the average check, on attendance and so on.

   
   

Sales of joint products can be analyzed in all cuts, relevant for traditional product and non-grocery retail. Feature of the solution is an opportunity to analyze cross-sellings: for example, to learn what oil product with what joint products most often is bought whether there is a dependence on a day of the week or the location of gas station.

"Our solution allows the management of networks of gas station to build reasonable product and marketing policy, to create the loyalty program. For example, data analysis showed in one of the projects implemented by us that even if at the nearby gas station fuel price will fall to 10 kopeks, owners of cards of loyalty all the same will not go to refuel there: level of service in network of our partner suits them. And it means that the price after the competitor can be not reduced that certainly has an impact on profitability of business, - Sergey Gromov tells. – An opportunity to monitor cross-sellings allows to optimize purchases of both types of goods. Our experience shows that more careful research of data and operational obtaining information help to increase turnover to 1% within a year after implementation".

Advantage of boxed industry solution of Business-Qlik for Retail Gas Stations are also short terms of implementation: they make from 3 weeks to 3-4 months. Project duration depends on quantity of data sources with which there will be an integrated solution and also from complexity of IT architecture of the company. At the same time the first results can be seen in several weeks after start of the project.

The solution underwent approbation in several networks of gas station and well proved. So, within one of projects less than in a month the functionality for the analysis of sales of joint products was implemented. Users had an opportunity to analyze dynamics of sales, to carry out contrastive and component analysis of profit. As a result the management of network of gas station received the tool for determination of the reasons of growth or fall of profit. Data retrieveds became a basis for correction of product strategy in a segment of joint products.
