2019: Announcement
In the middle of May, 2019 GE Healthcare provided the Chronicle automation system which is the digital platform intended for optimization of difficult development processes and production of cellular therapy.
Chronicle offers the unified digital space for monitoring of all production operations of the enterprise and logistics of a supply chain, providing data acquisition in real time and mailing of notifications.
New software also keeps electronic journals of batches which trace each production phase for performance improvement according to standards. Besides the traceability of all processes allows to ensure safety of confidential data of patients. Chronicle also includes electronic standard operational procedures (ESOP) – they allow to trace deviations from the protocol and provide recommendations about work with cells of the patient. The platform for cellular therapy is integrated with any equipment GE Healthcare and also with many tools of third-party producers and is already available in the market.
The general cellular and gene therapy manager for GE Healthcare Catarina Flyborg noted what was developed by software for automation of Chronicle for satisfaction of needs of the academic researchers and the large biotechnology companies and will help to provide broader access for patients to the vital methods of treatment. Extensive potential of cellular and gene therapy cannot be implemented without the complete digital solutions intended for optimization of production processes which are capable to cover all scales of production from development of medicine before commercialization.[1]
