2021: Start Sales
In mid-August 2021, sales of the Classon smart bicycle helmet began, capable of recognizing cars on the road.
Although previously there were many bicycle helmets equipped with direction indicators, cyclists still have to use traditional signals with their hands. It is here that the Classon helmet comes to the rescue, the LEDs of which are triggered by the gestures of the cyclist's hands, and also warn users about cars approaching from behind.
Like many other smart helmets, it is equipped with a headlamp, a rear lamp/brake lamp and amber LED direction indicators on each side in front and back. It is also equipped with front and rear video cameras. All of this electronics is connected to two 1.2 GHz integrated microprocessors and is powered by a 2800 mAh lithium battery, which must provide up to four hours of operation on a single hour charge.
As reported in a release from Beyond developers (also known as Brooklyness), when a user gives a traditional hand signal when turning left or right, helmet gesture sensors detect this movement and appropriately turn on helmet direction indicators.
The headlamp and rear light are constantly on, although when the built-in accelerometer determines that the motorcycle is suddenly slowing down, it turns on the rear light, which temporarily becomes brighter and serves as a stop light.
Both cameras can be used to record trips, as simply for entertainment or for legitimate use in the event of an accident. Up to six hours of footage can be stored on the internal memory of the helmet. In addition, if the rear camera sees a car approaching from behind in the cyclist's blind spot, the cyclist will be warned using flashing LEDs on the underside of the helmet's Vizor.
The total weight is 580 grams and has a water resistance of IP65, which means that it can withstand water jets under low pressure from any direction.
The cost of the product is $199, at first it will be sold in a limited edition.[1]
