2020: The announcement of electronic points for blind people from eSight
In the middle of August, 2020 the Canadian company eSight released the new version of electronic points for people with poor eyesight and even a blindness. eSight 4 are equipped with two screens with the resolution of 1280 × 960 pixels on which the images shot and processed by a lobby are displayed. These points are shown to people with all types of eye diseases which are characterized by considerable loss of the central sight, such as diabetic retinopathy, degeneration of a yellow spot and Shtargardt's disease.
Thanks to eSight technology of the image are displayed in individual processing and are directed generally to peripheral sight. The user can select what and in what volume to focus on, thanks to a touch control. The new software of the eSight device provides autofocusing and high image brightness. The user can select manually increase (up to 24-fold), focusing and contrast. Besides, the device provides the configured browse modes which the user can pre-program under the requirements. At the same time users who in everyday life wear glasses should not remove them - the built-in display is compatible to normal lenses.
The battery is on the back panel of the device, providing a counterbalance to points which are on the front panel. The battery can be taken out easily one hand and to replace at any time new. The company considers that users will want to use eSight 4 throughout the day therefore the possibility of replacement of batteries is important advantage. Besides, users can connect the smartphone to eSight 4 and browse the screen of the mobile phone, increase and stop the image as required and also use mobile application for exchange and storage of photos and video.[1]
