Elpitech: Software and hardware complex

2023: Product Announcement

In December 2023, the first software and hardware complex (PAC) running Russian Baikal processors was announced. This is a joint development of Elpitech and Smart Archive.

One of the key components of the product DSS is Elpy Archive O212BS01-p, equipped with a board on the Russian Baikal-S processor. This module acts as a quick host for data storage the and the management server. Another element is the Datatek cold data storage system. It can be equipped with a processor Baikal-M or chip. Intel The amount of RAM is 16 GB expandable up to 32 GB. It is allowed to use HDD with a capacity of 20 TB or more.

HSC (hardware-software complex) are a complex of hardware and software designed to solve one or more problems. In the case of Eliptekh development, PAC is designed to store archived data.

In a standard configuration, 10 drives are connected, but their number can be increased at the request of the client. The maximum storage volume of the module is 1.44 PB. Any disk can be removed from the system and sent to shelf storage. Another HDD can be installed on the empty space. Drives of any manufacturer with different characteristics are supported. It is argued that failure of any number of disks does not affect system performance.

As Evgeny Volkov, technical director of Smart Archive, told CNews, the company estimates the potential market size of such devices at hundreds of units. Since the summer of 2023, the PC has been tested by large integrators and potential customers. Based on the results of reviews and proposals, the manufacturer intends to finalize its equipment and organize its mass production.^[1]
