2020: Announcement of a portable photoprinter of Hi-Print
At the end of August, 2020 Polaroid released the mobile Hi-Print printer. He uses the classical color scheme, but prints modern photos from the smartphone.
In Polaroid Hi-Print cartridges with paper and ink 2x3 are used. As well as in a case with Zink technology, in the printer separate ink cartridges are not used. However Hi-Print is the first Polaroid printer in which the combined cartridges with ink and paper instead of special paper with the thermoactivated dye are used. Cartridges of Hi-Print allow to print waterproof photos the size approximately about the credit card with a sticky reverse side.
Applications for iOS and Android allow users to edit photos before printing. The tool kit of editing includes filters, imposings, a framework, stickers, the text and other parameters. The processed photos go to Hi-Print on a wireless network. Unlike earlier options, such as Polaroid Zip, Hi-Print uses not Wi-Fi, but Bluetooth which consumes less energy and simplifies connection to the mobile device. The internal accumulator is expected 20 photos or two cartridges.
On the white Polaroid Hi-Print body the Polaroid logo edged by a rainbow is located. The quality of mobile printers usually differs little because all of them use similar technology and feature set. However Hi-Print potentially can offer more high image quality due to failure from zinc.
The Polaroid Hi-Print printer will be available on the website polaroid.com since the end of August, 2020 and should appear at large retail sellers, including Best Buy, Target and UrbanOutfitters.com, on September 10. The retail cost of a product will be $100, and printing of 20 photos will cost to the user about $17.[1]
