2021: Electric Vehicle Announcement GV70
In November 2021, Hyundai introduced the first electric car under the Genesis premium brand. We are talking about a crossover called Electrified GV70.
The novelty received an electric power plant with a total capacity of 490 hp. In the maximum recoil mode of Boost Mode units, the car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
To recharge batteries, you can use a 350-kilowatt system, which can replenish the battery supply from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. The range of the Genesis Electrified GV70 is about 400 km.
On-board electronics can reduce power consumption: if necessary, it turns off one of the engines. Another useful function is the ability to connect third-party electrical appliances to the on-board electrical system. i-Pedal modes are provided, which allows you to refuse to press the brake pedal, as well as e-Terrain off-road mode.
Visually, the electric car differs from the gasoline and diesel versions of the Genesis GV70 by a plug instead of a radiator grille (a charging connector is built into it), smoother bumpers and other wheels. The interior turned out to be standard, of the features - only another schedule of devices. A household outlet appeared in the trunk to connect external consumers with a capacity of up to 3.6 kW.
The car will be equipped with an electronically controlled suspension, working in conjunction with the front camera and navigation and an active noise cancellation system.
Sales of the Genesis Electrified GV70 will begin in 2022. The manufacturer has already announced the appearance of a model outside the home market, but more specific information has not yet given. By November 19, 2021, the cost of an electric crossover is not disclosed. The price range for the regular Genesis GV70 crossover in the Russian market varies from 4,150,000 to 6,150,000 rubles.[1]
2020: Genesis G80 Announcement
In early April 2020, Hyundai introduced a premium sedan under the Genesis brand. A model called the G80 received a number of assistants for drivers, including automatic braking systems for interference at intersections and automatic parking with remote control for parallel or perpendicular parking using a regular key-key.
The novelty is built on a new platform. The car has a body created from lighter materials, due to which its weight decreased by 110 kg compared to the previous generation of the model. At the same time, the new body is 6% tougher than the previous one, it consists of 42% super-durable steels and 19% aluminum, the developers say.
The G80 has a digital dashboard with a 12.3-inch screen with the ability to output 3D images. Sedan equipment also includes a multimedia system with a 14.5-inch screen, a projection display, 10 airbags, a panoramic roof and a highway autopilot Highway Driving Assist II.
At the start of sales, the South Korean manufacturer's flagship sedan will be available with two gasoline turbo engines - a 304-horsepower 2.5-liter and 380-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 - and a 210-horsepower 2.2-liter turbo diesel. All units are combined only with an 8-speed automatic transmission, versions with rear or all-wheel drive are provided. For the car, an adaptive suspension is available that can adjust to the road in front, receiving information from the front camera scanning the surface in the path of the car.
The start of accepting orders for the Genesis G80 in South Korea took place in early April 2020. In this country, a sedan can be bought at a price of $43 thousand. The timing of the appearance of the car on the Russian market at the time of its announcement is not called.[2]
