2022: System Creation
At the end of October 2022, it became known about the creation of Russia thermonuclear reactors in the remote control system. This was reported by the press service "" ITER Design Center(enterprise Rosatom"").
Acceptance tests of the gyrotron control system were successfully completed at the GIKOM enterprise in Nizhny Novgorod. For the first time, during the tests of ITER subsystems, the information infrastructure created by the ITER Design Center was used to conduct thermonuclear research at the country's scientific institutes.
Russia is also involved in the work of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF), a research accelerator complex, the most powerful third-generation synchrotron radiation source located in Grenoble, France. It is an electronic synchrotron with an energy of 6 GeV and numerous radiation output channels - experiments are conducted around the clock at over 40 stations, in which Russian scientists also participate.
In September 2022, Russia began supplying ITER with the first domestic gyrotron complexes - high-tech devices for additional plasma heating and current generation, which have exceptional characteristics. Their significance cannot be overestimated, said Anatoly Krasilnikov, head of the Russian agency ITER.
Without these most complex systems, it is impossible to obtain the first plasma on the reactor, the operation of ITER without gyrotrons is not feasible. This is the result of many years of painstaking work of our scientists, engineers with tremendous experience and groundwork in the manufacture of such devices. Without a doubt, this is a great victory for Russian science and industry, - said Krasilnikov.[1]
