IVA S/W is the mobile radio complex of wireless underwater communication intended for information transfer and voice data in sea and sweet water and also through limit of the section of environments (water-air).

2019: Modules. Specific Features. Scopes of application

The main modules of the underwater IVA S/W radio complex for August, 2019 are the digital transceiver, hydroacoustic and electromagnetic antennas. The full-front mask with the headset of communication and controllers of management of communication is in addition used. The mask has standard connectors for connection to air hoses.

The modes acceptance/transfer are switched by the RTT button on the diver's hand. Bonding wires and the general dimensions of radio station allow to place conveniently its modules on an aqualung. Noises for the movement of the diver in water are not created.

In addition for maintenance of group of divers from a surface of a reservoir the version of the surface headset of communication is used.

2018: Completion of tests of mobile radio station of wireless underwater communication

The IVA Technologies company, the Russian producer of telecommunication equipment and the software, announced on July 10, 2018 completion of tests of mobile radio station of wireless underwater communication. Engineers of the company tested in the water area of the Black Sea with the assistance of professional scuba divers.

The Russian engineers developed the innovation portable device of an underwater radio communication

During tests the voice communication between scuba divers in the thickness of water at depths over 10 meters and at the range of 50 meters was established and also the radio communication session through limit of the section of environments from under water on a surface with the base station on the vessel is held. At signal transmission the portable device easily coped with temperature differences in water layers, limit of the section of environments and natural obstacles which limit operation of hydrospeaker systems of communication.

According to IVA Technologies, the radio station represents the compact device consisting of the block of the transceiver and the transceiving antenna. Dimensions of the antenna allow to locate it on equipment of divers, without creating noises for the movement. The principle of operation of the device is based on distribution of electromagnetic waves.

The mobile radio station of wireless underwater communication is intended for the solution of a broad spectrum of tasks among which — maintenance of water courts and infrastructure facilities in port, rescue operations under water, investigation and control of mineral deposits on the shelf, protection of water areas of sea bases, communication of divers with the instructor or divers with the commander of descents, control of uninhabited submersibles and others.

The hydroacoustics which was considered as until recently only portable means of underwater communication and therefore was widely adopted so, has a number of serious restrictions. Hydrospeaker systems are not capable to transmit a signal between sheets of water and through borders of environments. Besides, any obstacles, for example, of an alga, prevent distribution of a signal, and such factors as undercurrents and nervousness of the sea reduce sending range of a signal. Using hydroacoustics it is impossible to provide stable communication between the divers working at depth and the vessel on a surface. At the same time requirements of both civil, and military structures in the compact solution for a reliable wireless underwater communication are huge. Estimating results of tests of our system, we say that we managed to develop the innovative solution capable to increase quality of underwater communication and to expand opportunities for studying of the World Ocean — Nikolay Ivenev, the chairman of the board of directors of IVA Technologies said.
